Here is a lap-by-lap account of the MBNA America 400 at Dover International Speedway: Lap 400: Checkered flag. Ryan Newman has won the MBNA America 400. Lap 399: White flag. Ryan Newman leads. Lap 375: Elliott Sadler off the pace. Flat right rear tire. Sadler gets a pass-through penalty for speeding on pit road. Lap 343: Greg Biffle off the pace with a loose wheel. He drops from fifth to 13th after a pit stop. Lap 336: Green flag. Restart. Ryan Newman leads. Lap 328: Most make pit stops. This could be the last round. Ryan Newman retains the lead off pit road. Mark Martin is in second. Lap 327: Caution for debris or oil on the track. Robby Gordon heads to the garage. Lap 316: Rusty Wallace decides to pit. Thinks he has another tire going down. Lap 300: Ryan Newman still leads. Only 11 cars on the lead lap as Newman sets a blistering pace. Lap 266: Ryan Newman leads after green-flag pit stops cycle through. Lap 261: Many of the leaders come in: Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin. Bobby Labonte loses control coming down pit road, but doesn't hit anything. Matt Kenseth loses control of his car and hits a tire barrier while trying to pit for a tire going down. The front end of the car is completely crushed. Lap 110: Casey Mears has a tire going down. He drops down to the apron to pit after running eighth. Mears mistakenly thinks he's getting only two tires, but his crew gives him four. Loses more time in the pits and rejoins the race two laps down in 33rd place. Lap 93: Ryan Newman passes Matt Kenseth for the lead. Rusty Wallace also gets by Kenseth. Lap 91: Ryan Newman closing in on Matt Kenseth. Lap 55: Green flag. Matt Kenseth leads, followed by Ryan Newman and Rusty Wallace. Lap 52: Matt Kenseth regains the lead. Still under yellow. Lap 50: Matt Kenseth wins the race off pit road, but Ken Schrader inherits the lead. Lap 49: Most of the field takes pit stops. Lap 48: Caution. Brian Vickers loses control and hits the outside wall and inside barrier hard. Lap 33: Matt Kenseth catches and passes Ryan Newman for the lead. Lap 23: Green flag. Ryan Newman leads. Lap 20: Ryan Newman leads after some make pit stops under yellow. Jeff Burton penalized a lap for pitting outside his pit stall. Lap 13: Caution. Kasey Kahne has an engine problem.
