ATLANTA -- NASCAR kicks off its 2004 season with the introduction of a new premier series sponsor and the new points system.
On Monday, Nextel executives were in Concord, N.C., during the 21st annual UAW-GM Motorsports Media Tour hosted by Lowe's Motor Speedway to unveil detailed plans for NASCAR's new premier series sponsor.

On Tuesday, NASCAR chairman Brian France and NASCAR president Mike Helton will be in Concord, N.C., at the NASCAR Research and Development Center to unveil the new NASCAR Nextel Cup Series points system.
