LOS ANGELES -- Nextel and NASCAR brought the excitement of NASCAR to the Southern California Hispanic community in anticipation of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Auto Club 500 in Fontana. Nextel and NASCAR celebrated diversity and Hispanic heritages at Fiesta Broadway by offering visitors the opportunity to experience the thrill of NASCAR through the Mini Experience, meeting Hispanic NASCAR drivers and getting an up-close view of a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series stock car.
Nextel's Mini Experience, an interactive fan experience featuring full-motion racing simulators, was on site at the Fiesta Broadway for visitors to enjoy. The simulator ride allows visitors to race each other inside a NASCAR stock car, with picture screens and speakers giving riders the full experience of being on the race track.
Jesus Hernandez was on hand at the Nextel Cup booth signing autographs for the fans.
"It was a tremendous day for me to meet with the fans and sign autographs for them. It's wonderful to see just how many fans we have out there." Commented Hernadez. Jesus has been very busy this year. He has tested for Joe Gibbs and has many exciting plans for this season. Jesus is represented by G&G Motorsports Marketing, who has been working on a diversity program for quite a while now that can be found at www.DriverDiversity.com.
"We are very excited at how our diversity program is growing. We have Jesus who is an absolute talent and will become a house hold name before long." commented Francine Schill owner of G&G Motorsports Marketing. This program was started when G&G Motorsports noticed that the talent that was in the motorsports world was not given a chance, and that is because of age, sponsor and many more other reason. We decided to put a program together in order to help bring young and talented drivers to the Racing world and give them a chance to prove themselves on the track in this unique program.
G&G has also signed up Becca Anderson to their diversity program.
"We have a big announcement coming soon concerning Becca and another female driver that will change the dynamics of how woman are viewed in racing and will generate a lot of excitement."
