CINCINNATI -- Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) announced the winner of its "What NASCAR wears on Race Day Sweepstakes." Dayton, OH resident Sharon Meyers was randomly selected to win an autographed hood from Bobby Labonte's No.18 Interstate Batteries Nextel Cup car.
When asked what she was going to do with the hood, Meyers replied, "First I'm going to hang it above my bed. Then after I enjoy it for awhile, I'm going to give it to a charity to help them raise money for their cause."
The hood came from the #18 car that raced at Miami-Homestead in 2003.
Second prize in the sweepstakes was a Washington Redskins racing helmet signed by Joe Gibbs and Bobby Labonte. An Interstate Batteries NASCAR race jacket was given away to the third prize winner.
The contest was part of a Cintas catalog marketing campaign that included radio advertising and direct mail. Participants were directed to Cintas' racing web site to register for their chance to win. Anyone that made a minimum purchase of $100 from the Cintas catalog was automatically entered in the sweepstakes. More than 11,000 people registered in May.
Cintas leverages its NASCAR relationship in numerous markets across the country. "Thousands of race fans wear a Cintas uniform to work everyday," said Scott Farmer, Cintas President and CEO. "It's not enough to have your name on a car and hope your customers notice. We've been successful with NASCAR because we've always made the effort to share our relationship with our customers."
Cintas is the preferred uniform and first aid supplier of NASCAR. All NASCAR officials wear a Cintas uniform to work at each race. Cintas is also an associate sponsor of Joe Gibbs Racing and a track sponsor at the following venues: Kentucky Speedway, Richmond International Raceway, Phoenix International Raceway, Gateway International Raceway, Kansas Speedway, Memphis Motorsports Park, and Dover International Speedway.
