One of the neat things about racing memorabilia is the fact that there are so many different items out there to collect. Here are responses to some of your inquiries about a variety of miscellaneous collectibles. Q: I have a plastic wrapped set of three Kelloggs boxes with Dale Sr., Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarret, and Terry Labonte. Any idea of the value?--Danny Thompson A: This three-pack was released in 1997. It's worth $20-25. | | EMAIL | Got a collectible question? Email us!

Q: I do not know if you can help me or not. I have a teenage son who has this hideous cap that he will not part with. It is currently being held together with staples, twist ties and fishing line. It is a black red and white cap with black red and white flames on it . It is a QVC Geoff Bodine No. 7 ball cap. My son will not go anywhere with out this cap. If you can help me I am desperately searching on the net for this cap. He has had two since the late 90's. I have gone back to the little store that I purchased it from. It is no longer available. If you could give me any positive info I would be most grateful. -- TLB A: For anything that is out of production, eBay is always your best bet. Q: I have an 18"x40" plastic 3-D lighted black and gold Davey Allison car purchased in 1993. I was told that these were made for Texaco executives with a production of 800. Any idea what its worth? -- Fast Eddie A: Not sure of the production numbers, but this was a promo piece made for executives and (mainly) distributors. It is worth $50-65. Q: I have a Sam Bass print and am curious about the value. The particulars are as follows: Bobby Hamilton 1991 Winston Cup Rookie of the Year with small pictures of Rusty Wallace, Ernie Irvan, Michael Waltrip, Davey Allison, Sterling Marlin, and Bobby Hamilton. The Country Time No. 68 Cup car is the dominant item in center of print. The print is number 218 of 500 signed by Sam Bass. It has been framed and is in excellent condition. -- Don A: That print should have a collectible value of $300-400. Q: I am checking the approximate collectible value of a 12 oz. Pepsi Longneck bottle: Richard Petty First Winston Cup Victory February 28, 1960 Charlotte Fairgrounds. -- SanB33 A: These were released in the early 1990s. The value is $2-5. Q: I have a Fireball Roberts Case knife (No. 567 of 1000) and a Kenny Wallace Case knife (No. 73 of 100 - certificate autographed and numbered by Kenny Wallace). Both are in mint to near mint condition. Any idea what these might be worth? -- Rakgvl A: A nice pair of knives. The Roberts piece has a collectible value of $150-175. The Wallace knife is worth $200-225. Q: I have a 1967 Richard Petty long neck glass Pepsi Bottle (unopened) which shows his career wins on it. There is a picture of him on the bottle as well. I am curious to know what, if anything, this is worth?-- Kathy A: This is from the same series as the one addressed above. Value is the same: $2-5. Q: I have a set of four plastic cups in a package, never opened, that say Kellogg's Corn Flakes Racing, and list four different tracks on each cup along with the stats of the track. Each cup says 1992 on it. There is a cup with Talladega, Daytona, Darlington, and Bristol. Each cup has the Kellogg's Corn Flakes car on it as well. Is this worth anything? -- Michele Rogers A: These were part of a Kellogg's promotion. The value would be $2-4. Q: I have a Dale Earnhardt Stetson hat commemorating his seven Winston Cup championships. It still remains in the box it was shipped in upon purchase. I would like to know approximate value. The inside of the hat has his autograph and "7-Time Champion." It also has a buckle with his No. 3 and tassels. -- Brian A: I've only seen a couple of these sold. Based on what they brought, the value would be in the $125-225 range. Q: I have a 1979 Firecracker 400 program with autographs from Neil Bonnett, Donnie Allison, and Darrell Waltrip. Waltrip signed the program 7 times. Cover page is Neil Bonnett winning a race and his autograph is on this page with Donnie Allison's right underneath. What is the value?-Dave A: With the autographs, this program should be worth $75-100, with the signatures making up most of the value. |
