Q: I have a complete set (11) of the 1972 STP cards. What is the current approximate value of this set? The cards are in excellent to mint condition. -- Kev A: This is an excellent set of cards, and a set that was way ahead of its time. It is rare to find someone who has a whole set. In my personal opinion, the collectible value of a whole set of these cars would be $1,000-1,250. I've seen them appraised as high as $2,000, but realistically I think $1,000-1,250 is more in line. Q: I have a driver card of Dale Earnhardt from the 1998 Winston Cup Wheels Card Set. I am wondering how much that card is worth? -- Sara Pierson A: A common Earnhardt card. It's worth $3-5. Q: I have the complete sets of Maxx trading cards from 1991 to '95, all uncirculated. I was wondering the values of these. I don't know anything about them. My dad gave them to me, so I was wondering if you could help me out. -- Roland Fullmer A: Maxx made a ton of cards each year. The value of each set would likely be $20-30. Q: I have a 1995 Busch Clash Winner Gold Signature of Dale Earnhardt. Made by Race Reflections Image Classic. Numbered 115 of 675. Can you tell me what this card is worth? It is in perfect condition and has been in a protective cover since purchased. -- Rainie A: These cards were inserted at a ratio of 1:32. It should be worth about $15. Q: My brother-in-law has a 300 card set of 1993 Maxx Premier Cards. He was wondering if you know how much they are worth. -- Angela Simmons A: A pretty decent set here. It's worth $40-50 in terms of collectibility. Q: Could you tell me the value of a Dale Earnhardt Wheels Viper R-3 card with Dale on the front? It has "Viper" and "Earnhardt" in silver letters down the side and the '95 season on the back, although it is dated at the bottom 1996. Is this considered a '95 or '96 card. -- Walt A: It's a '96 card. The Dale Earnhardt Black Mamba card No. R-3 was once valued at around $100. It has since leveled off at a little over $50. Q: I have a 1999 Press Pass Mark Martin Triple Gear 3 in 1 card numbered and registered with Press Pass No. 19/33. This card had race used firesuit, tire and sheet metal. Do you have a value on it? --jgjj248fans A: Nice card! It has a collectible value of $200-300, depending on the quality of the card. Q: How much is a Richard Petty Pro Set card worth. I have one and wanted to know if you had a price I could put on it. -- Chris A: If this is a common driver card, it is worth $2-4. Q: I have a 1998 Dale Earnhardt Press Pass VIP No. 38. I also have a Dale Earnhardt $5 phone card, never used. I would like to know what they are worth. -- Tonya A: The VIP card is worth about $5. Phone cards were included in several sets by several manufacturers. So, without knowing who made it, it's hard to give an accurate appraisal. But based on what I've seen in the market, I'd give $10-20 as a ballpark figure. Q: I have a 1999 Wheels Dale Earnhardt autograph card 1/9. It's the second in a retrospective series of nine cards featuring special reprints of collectors' favorites Dale Earnhardt. What is this item worth if anything? -- Harry A: These retro reprint cards were actually included in the 2003 Wheels American Thunder set. I'd place the collectible value of a mint card at $20, give or take a few bucks. |
