NASCAR memoribilia collectors often have questions about the items they've accumulated. Here are our responses to some of your most recent inquiries: Q: I have a 1:24 scale 2001 Monte Carlo still in the box and plastic. I was wondering if you could give me a value. -- Danny A: This kit is still fairly easy to find. It's worth around $25. Q: I have a No. 2 Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Wrangler 1:64th scale die-cast. The front of the box says Limited Edition 1995 and the front of the box says SkyBox trading card included. This has never been opened and is in mint condition. The box also says Platinum series. On the top of the box it says in gold lettering: Dale Earnhardt, 1 of 24,912. I would like to know how much this car is worth. I also have a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. 1:64th scale car, No. 15, Wrangler car, made by Action. The front of the box says Limited Edition Collectable and Racing Collectables Club of America. This is still in the box and in mint condition. The copyright on the box is 1996. I would like too how much this car is worth also. -- SNFLWR A: You have two good cars here. The No. 2 Pontiac is likely worth $40-50. The No. 15 T-Bird is probably worth $60-75 in terms of collectibility. Q: I would like to know the value of a Racing Champions 1:64 scale 1994 Brett Bodine Quaker State Brickyard 400 Premier Edition. I also have a 1:32 of Dale Earnhardt Sr. No. 3 Goodwrench Daytona 500 car. -- Linda Emmons | | EMAIL | Got a collectible question? Email us!

A: If I remember correctly, there were around 20,000 of the No. 26 Brett Bodine car produced. It is now worth $8-10. There were also 20,000 of the Earnhardt Daytona win 1:32 scale cares made. It's worth around $50. Q: Why does the Budweiser logo never appear on any of Dale Jr.'s cards? Every card I have of him has a JR logo where the Budweiser logo would normally be. -- Brian Lee A: It's all part of the government regulations that came about a few years back to protect minors from alcohol and tobacco advertising. Trading cards are popular among young people, so trading cards now bear alternative logos instead of algohol or tobacco logos. Q: I have a race-used Dale Earnhardt firesuit card from Press Pass. The year is 2001. Could this be one of the last firesuits he used? Also, what would be its worth? -- JB A: In terms of collectibility, that card is likely worth $150-200. It's impossible to say if it was made from one of Earnhardt's last firesuits, as suits from past years are sometimes used in card production. Q: I have a 1995 Jeff Gordon Cup Champion Upper Deck Road To The Cup Hologram Card. What would be the range of what it is worth? -- MJLPG A: This card used to book for around $50. I saw one sell on eBay recently for $2. A shame. I think this card still has a collectible value of $20-25. Q: How much is my Jeff Gordon Action Packed Winston Cup Country 1995 card worth, No.63? -- DCG7 A: A common card here. It's worth around $2. Q: I have a Dale Earnhardt Sr. banner promoting GM Goodwrench air conditioning parts. It has a picture of Dale and a picture of his car on it. The dimensions are 3' x 8'. It is made of plastic and used to hang in a GM service department. I picked it up back in 1999 and have held on to it for a while. Do you have any idea what it is worth? -- Chad P. A: A pretty unique souvenir here, one not readily available to the public. I'd place the value at $25-35. Q: In 1994 Dale Sr. was touring his Monte Carlo's. They stopped in Redding, CA at the local Chevy Dealership where they had a drawing for several prizes. I won the grand prize. It was a replica of his 1994 Goodwrench Monte Carlo. It's an electric/battery powered riding car for kids ages 3-7 maximum weight is 75 lbs. I have not seen anything like this car on eBay or any other site on the internet. Can you help me with a value. It has some wear and tear from normal use but otherwise complete. -- Candy A: This is purely an arbitrary value. But I feel this was probably a promotional piece that was not available to the general public. Based on what non-powered pedal cars sell for, I'd place the value of this motoriaed car in the $250-300 range. Q: I have a 16x20 poster framed. The title is The Winston, Charlotte Motor Speedway, May 17,1987 . It shows Dale Earnhardt Sr. and many others. If I am correct, six people in the picture have passed away and some others has retired. How much value does this hold? -- Robin A: If this is an original Winston poster, the value is around $50-60. However, a reprint (official reprints were designated as such in the margin) is worth about $25-30. |
