NASCAR collectors often have questions about the items they've accumulated. Here are our responses to some of your most recent inquiries:

Q: I have a friend with a 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Alan Kulwicki Champion hat, white with orange brim, with the number 7 and Alan's name embroidered on one side and Alan Kulwicki's actual autograph on the other side. I have seen similar hats online, but none that are autographed. What is the value of this hat? -- Valerie

A: The true value of this hat lies in the autograph. The hardest part is authenticating the signature. If it can be verified, I'd put the value in the $100-125 range in terms of collectibility.

Q: I am hoping you can help -- can't seem to find any info on this knife set anywhere else. I have Richard Petty 1992 Fan Appreciation Tour knife set with the certificate of authenticity. This is a scrimshawed knife and silver medallion in a velvet-lined cherry wood case. This is number 1431 out of 2000 made by W R Case & Sons Cutlery Company. This is titled "Tribute to the King". Any info would be appreciated as to the value. -- Sue Weekley

A: While some collectibles have seen their values drop during the past year, knives are holding pretty steady. This particular knife has a collectible value of around $400.

Q: I have a Dale Earnhardt five-time champion knife. Can you please give me an estimate on its value? -- Alicia

A: This is a marble top Hunter style knife from Case. There were 1500 produced, and the current collectible value is $325-350.

Q: I was wondering what the value of a Frost Cutlery knife with Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty 7-time champions would be worth. -- Ray Meeks

A: The value depends on which of two styles you have. The Bowie style is valued at $150-200. The Lockback is worth $50-75.

Q: I have a "Chase the Champion" Dale Earnhardt No. 7/10 card , Series 2,1995. The picture has Dale and his wife in front of the team and car, holding a checked flag(Food City 500). Can you tell me how much it is worth? -- Jaime Rothe

A: A decent card, but nothing extraordinary. It's likely worth $4-6.

Q: I have a 1997 Upper Deck die-cut Cup Quest Checkered Flag version card of Jeff Gordon. Card No. CQ2, hand numbered 023/100. Could you please tell me the value of this card? -- rgracer

A: Based on the last one of those cards I saw sold, it should be worth $25-40.

Q: I have a Dale Earnhardt 1998 Press Pass Gold Signings card. How much is it worth?-Isis

A: This card was inserted into Press Pass Premium and VIP packs. IN mint condition, it should have a collectible value of $400-450.

Q: I have some trading cards that were put out in 1997 by Fleer Ultra. It was from Shoney's series of sixteen. I have a Dale Earnhardt 3/16, Jeff Gordon 4/16 and several others. What are they worth? All cards have picture of driver, car, name and team name and on the back have stats, DOB, sponsors and team (Richard Petty's doesn't list DOB or sponsors). -- jhaymak.

A: The Earnhardt card is worth $6-8. Gordon's card is worth $3-4. Most of the others are worth $1-2.

Q: I recently bought a few Dale Earnhardt cars in their package and was just curious as to their value if any. It is a Dale Earnhardt Winners Circle Daytona 500 stock car series it says 40th annual Feb 15,1998 50th anniversary series it is a car and a trading card in its package. I also have another car and card combo it is a Daytona 500 made by winners circle Dale Earnhardt it says Speedweeks 99 series. -- Shelly Johnson

A: Both of those cars are valued at $25-30 apiece.

Q: I have untorn ticket stub from the November 2-5, 2000 Phoenix International Raceway NASCAR event commemorating Tony Stewart's victory from the prior year. The four tickets were used but the individual tickets have stayed intact making up a collage of Tony Stewart. Is there and value to this or do I just have a fun collectible item. -- dj66mesa.

A: There is not a lot of real value right now, but it may attain some value in coming years. If you'd like to make it worth more sooner, have it signed by Stewart or Jeff Burton, who won the race that day.
