Celebrities and athletes revved their engines and tested their need for speed in a wheel-to-wheel competition for charity in the 3rd Annual Cadillac Super Bowl Grand Prix. Racing for the finish line using SuperKarts on a virtual raceway, the event allowed athletes and celebrities to show off their driving skills.
Owen Wilson, Jen Schefft, Regina King, Katie Holmes, Paul Walker, Ryan Cabrera, Peter Farrelly, Leeann Tweeden, Eduardo Verastegui, Mike O'Malley, Sophia Bush, Chad Michael Murray, and NFL stars Simeon Rice and Joe Zelenka put the pedal to the metal in fierce competition. In addition, Jen Schefft kicked off the race as the official Cadillac Grand Prix flag girl and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Bridget Hall took over the duties when Jen raced.
The CSX parking lot in downtown Jacksonville was transformed into an ultimate racetrack for the event. Each celebrity operated a SuperKart, go-karts specifically designed for racing, powered by a 10 horsepower engine (allowing speeds up to 55 miles per hour) that offer amazing high performance driving. A team of expert racing specialists from the Bob Boundurant School of High Performance Driving was on hand to take the celebrities through the safety and on-track training regulations prior to the official race.
Cadillac was proud to present the MVR (Most Valuable Racer) Award to Access Hollywood's Tony Potts, along with $10,000, which will be donated to his charity, Haven Hills; $3,500 to Owen Wilson, which will be donated to PSarts; and $1,500 to Leeann Tweeden, which will be donated to the USO. Two-time winner Leeann Tweeden lost her crown as superstar Wilson and TV anchor Potts passed her with one lap to go in the finals.
