Sweepstakes grand prize winner selected

Troy Drewry of Tampa, FL wins the Sunoco 5000 sweepstakes

Sunoco, the Official Fuel of NASCAR, has selected Troy Drewry of Tampa, FL as its first grand prize winner of the inaugural Sunoco 5000 sweepstakes, a summer-long promotion where Sunoco customers win great prizes by placing a replica Sunoco Official Fuel of NASCAR contingency decal on their vehicle, frequenting their local Sunoco station and being spotted (at or near a Sunoco) with the decal on their vehicle.

As the first grand prize winner, Mr. Drewry will receive a trip for four to Richard Petty Driving Experience, where he (and friends) will receive racing tips from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and other Nextel Cup drivers.

The event, scheduled to take place on September 22nd at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, will include safety training, in-car and on-track instructions, eight (8) laps around the speedway in a 358 cubic inch V-8 NASCAR style racecar with 600 horsepower and a graduation packet including a time sheet with a breakdown of each lap driven. Following the on-track event, Troy and friends will be treated to a barbeque, courtesy of Sunoco, at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

One additional grand prize winner will be selected at the sweepstakes' conclusion where another lucky winner will receive their choice of either a 2005 Ford F-150 or Ford Explorer.

The other 4998 prizes include gas for a year certificates, Nextel Cup Series race tickets, Sunoco/NASCAR Checkered Flags as well as Sunoco/NASCAR-licensed toy trucks, mini remote control cars and hats. Approximately $250,000 in prizes are being offered (or are available) throughout the promotion's May - August, 2005 time frame.
