DOVER, Del. -- A late-race tangle between Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick during the MBNA RacePoints 200 caused both men to be admonished by NASCAR following the race. Busch and Harvick were racing for position with 56 laps to go when Busch's car bobbled, sending him into Harvick. The two spun down the frontstretch and eventually wound up in the mud in Turn 1. Harvick's throttle was stuck wide-open, pushing Busch into the Turn 1 grass, but Harvick said he didn't push Busch intentionally. "No, we were just hung up, trying to make sure we didn't get wrecked again," Harvick said. Busch got his car out of the mud quickly, but he drove his car backwards up Dover's pit road. He finished 36th after spending 74 laps in the top 10. After the race, both Busch and Harvick met in the Busch Series hauler with NASCAR President Mike Helton and Busch Series Director Joe Balash. Busch didn't comment after the meeting. "[Kyle Busch] got way impatient and wrecked us, really no way around it. Could have been prevented," said Harvick, who led a race-high 86 laps. "We go to these Busch races to try to win the race. It's just unfortunate," Harvick said. " "I don't have anything against those Hendrick guys." |
