LEBANON, Tenn. -- After nearly four hours of delays caused by several rain showers, NASCAR officials announced that Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 300 would be postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast on FX immediately following the Nextel Cup race from Pocono. After day-long rain resulting from Tropical Storm Arlene wiped out Busch Pole Qualifying, officials were able to dry the track in time for the regularly-scheduled start time of 8:05 p.m. ET. However, while the cars were circling the track preparing to get the green flag, it began to rain again. The track once again appeared to be drying until another heavy shower at 11 p.m. caused NASCAR officials to give up for the evening. Busch Series points leader Carl Edwards is expected to be at Pocono, which means Hank Parker Jr. could be asked to drive the No. 60 Ford on Sunday. Parker drove the car in Friday's practice sessions. |
