Team Press Release May 22, 2005 06:40 PM EDT (22:40 GMT)
Scott Riggs finished 28th in Saturday night's NASCAR Nextel Open. Coming off of Turn 4 on the first lap, Riggs' Valvoline Chevrolet snapped loose, sending him into the outside wall of Lowe's Motor Speedway and ending the night for the No. 10 team. | | ALSO | |

"The car was just too free," said Riggs. "We had trouble in practice yesterday and kept freeing it up because we were too tight. I went into Turn 4 tonight and got loose. I tried to save it, and for a second I thought would, but I ended up getting into the wall. "Even though it wasn't a points race, it's still unfortunate that our night ended like this. Hopefully we can put it behind us and use it to be stronger for next weekend. We definitely learned what not to do in next week's Coca-Cola 600, and that's just as important as learning what to do." The May 29th Coca-Cola 600 will be broadcast live on FOX beginning at 5 p.m. ET. |
