NASCAR penalizes crew chief of No. 37 Cup team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR announced Wednesday that Glenn Darrow, crew chief for the No. 37 Dodge driven by Tony Raines in the Nextel Cup Series, has been fined $2,500 for an infraction during last weekend's event at California Speedway.

Darrow was fined for an unapproved rear end gear ratio, a violation of Section 12-4-A (Actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 12-4-CC (Unapproved rear end gear ratio) of the Nextel Cup Series rulebook.
