Racing Fan magazine set for debut this week

The first of two issues of Racing Fan begins hitting newsstands nationwide late next week.

Racing Fan, a magazine for the passionate NASCAR enthusiast, celebrates the 75 million fans that have made NASCAR the fastest-growing sport in America.

A second issue of Racing Fan will go on sale May 16.

More than 250,000 copies of each issue will be distributed, available nationally at major retailers including supermarkets, bookstores, and newsstands, with additional concentration in race markets. The cover price is $3.99.

A true fan's magazine, Racing Fan enhances the fan experience.

It's for the reader who loves everything about NASCAR: its history and trivia; the young guns and veteran drivers; their rivalries and strategies; the technology, garage, and pit road; and the infield parties and the tracks. Inside analysis and on-the-scene reporting cover the sport's controversies, rumors, big personalities, and sponsor news.

Big pictures throughout the magazine capture the spectacle of the sport, and a bold design delivers the fans information they can use in an oversized 10 inch by 12 inch format that's as visually thrilling as a pack of 43 cars running three-wide at Talladega.

"There's no enthusiast more passionate than the NASCAR fan," says Time4 Media President Mark Ford.

"We're giving the most exciting sport in America the treatment it deserves."

Time4's Editorial Director Scott Mowbray is serving as Editor of Racing Fan; Jim Else, Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales, is Publisher; and Steve Shure, Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing, oversees circulation.

A roster of NASCAR beat regulars and talented freelancers round out the editorial team.

This first issue of Racing Fan carries approximately 75 pages of editorial and 45 pages of advertising, including a diverse roster of major national brands, such as Budweiser, Halston, Crown Royal, Microsoft's Xbox, JP Morgan Chase, and a four-page Dodge gatefold.
