Nextel Fan of the Week: Talladega

Renea Hale, Rome, Ga.

Combining her love of Nextel Cup Series racing with her family is easy for this week's fan, Renea Hale.

With the help of her family -- husband, Casey, and children Zac, Brooke and Kara -- Renea enjoys speed every weekend.

Five years ago when her husband and son decided to start racing go-karts, Renea jumped at the chance to be their crew chief. Now a weekly family event, the Hale's team, Three Rivers Racing, competes in the World Karting Association Georgia Dirt Division.

Renea is in charge of their three cars, doing everything from changing oil to keeping track of lap times. And in honor of Renea's favorite driver, their racing trailer and one of their go-karts is designed after Jeremy Mayfield's No. 19 Dodge.

"I really enjoy the atmosphere and competition of racing. Being able to share that with my family every week racing go-karts is a dream come true," Renea said.

After living just minutes from Talladega Superspeedway, Renea was hooked on the sport. It wasn't long before she had her entire family watching the racing action, too.

In addition to competing on weekends, the Hale family makes it a point to watch every Nextel Cup Series race.
