Skinner earns NCTS Bud Pole with record lap

Still wanting first Toyota win, veteran will lead field at Nashville

Mike Skinner edged out fellow Toyota driver Bill Lester to earn the Bud Pole for Saturday's Toyota Tundra 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.

Skinner toured the 1.333-mile oval in 29.725 seconds at an average speed of 161.440 mph. Lester clocked in at 29.747/161.320.

Brandon Whitt, also in a Toyota, clocked in third at 29.748/161.315.

Points leader Dennis Setzer qualified 16th at 30.164/159.090.

The race is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. ET on SPEED.
