Hamilton changes sponsor, number for '06

MOUNT JULIET, Tenn. -- Former Craftsman Truck Series champion Bobby Hamilton has joined forces with the Fastenal Company, a Minnesota-based industrial and construction supply company with more than 1,700 stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Singapore and the Netherlands.

Hamilton will pilot the No.18 Fastenal Dodge in 2006 and 2007, switching from the No. 04 he drove in 2005.

"We are thrilled to be working with a great company like Fastenal," Hamilton said. "We use their products on our race trucks and so the fit is perfect. After we met with them one time we thought they were a great match for us. They have the exact outlook with their people and their company as I do with mine. I noticed right off the bat they are laid back, but yet very driven people just like us at BHR."

In addition to his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship in 2004, Hamilton has 10 wins in 99 series starts. Hamilton won two races in 2005, season-opener Daytona and Mansfield en route to his sixth place finish in the final NCTS standings. Hamilton also has four NASCAR Nextel Cup wins and one NASCAR Busch Series win over the course of his career.

"We're thrilled about the opportunity and see a lot of great things this year for Fastenal and BHR," Hamilton said. "We are building several more trucks right now and testing them at tracks and the wind tunnel. Our team is capable of another championship, so this year will be exciting."

In 2006 the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will run 25 races on 22 separate racetracks across the United States. The NCTS will compete for the first time at the ultra-fast Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Ala. on Oct. 7, 2006.

All of the NCTS events will be broadcast live nationally on the Speed Channel.
