Lap-by-Lap: Darlington

Here is a lap-by-lap account of Saturday's Dodge Charger 500 at Darlington Raceway:

Lap 370: Greg Biffle wins the Dodge Charger 500.

Lap 369: Biffle takes lead from Newman. Jeff Gordon takes second.

Lap 369: Green flag. Ryan Newman leads.

Lap 365: Ryan Newman and Ken Schrader elect to stay out. Carl Edwards leads the race off pit road after a two-tire stop. Biffle also takes two tires and will restart fourth. Jeff Gordon will restart fourth after a four-tire stop. This will be a green-white-checkered finish and a single-file restart.

Lap 364: Caution is out after Mark Martin gets loose and spins down the frontstretch. 11th caution of the night.

Lap 361: Biffle's car is getting better. He takes second from Jeff Gordon.

Lap 343: 24 to go. Newman still leads by over three seconds.

Lap 341: Burton makes unscheduled pit stop. His wheel wasn't tightened correctly during the last pit stop.

Lap 339: Jeff Burton, who is running sixth, says he has a virbation and may have to pit.

Lap 337: Biffle is falling like a rock and is in danger of losing fourth to Mark Martin.

Lap 333: Ryan Newman has checked out. He has a lead of almost three seconds.

Lap 329: Biffle loses second place to Jeff Gordon, and Kahne gets around Biffle for third.

Lap 324: Ryan Newman takes lead from Greg Biffle.

Lap 322: Green flag. Greg Biffle leads.

Lap 319: All cars on pit road. Biffle retains the lead with a 14.4 second stop. Newman has a good stop (14.4 seconds) and will restart second. Jeff Gordon goes from fifth to third. Kahne loses two spots in the pits after a 15.5 second stop. Kevin Harvick will restart 20th after he had air wrench problems in the pits.

Lap 317: Caution is out for debris

Lap 317: Jeff Gordon is back in the top five.

Lap 310: The top five remains unchanged: Biffle, Newman, Kahne, Martin and Harvick.

Lap 295: Biffle already has a 1.5-second lead. He will lead the most laps tonight.

Lap 287: Green flag. Greg Biffle leads.

Lap 284: All cars on pit road. Biffle gets the lead back with a 15.1 second spot. Ryan Newman to second with a 14.9 second stop. Kahne falls to third after right-front problems led to a 16.5 second stop.

Lap 283: Kyle Busch slaps the wall, ruining a top-five finish. The caution flag is out for the 10th time.

Lap 280: 20 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 259: Jimmie Johnson makes unscheduled pit stop for a vibration and will lose a ton of position. His crew gives him a great piot and he falls only a lap down.

Lap 257: Kahne has a one-second lead.

Lap 247: Green flag. Kasey Kahne leads.

Lap 242: Caution is out for the ninth time. Three-car accident with Travis Kvapil, Dale Jarrett and Scott Riggs. Kvapil hit the wall, collecting Riggs. Brian Vickers is the Lucky Dog. Riggs heads to the garage. The leaders will stay out, but 10 cars will make a pit stop.

Lap 239: Green flag. Kasey Kahne leads.

Lap 235: Everyone on pit road. All 19 cars on the lead lap will make a stop. Johnson is in and out in 14.2 seconds. Biffle is 15.0 seconds and Kahne wins the battle off pit road with a 13.6 second stop.

Lap 232: Blaney has spun entering pit road. Caution is out. Bobby Labonte gets the Lucky Dog.

Lap 231: Jeremy Mayfield has pancaked the right side of his car. Dave Blaney also has damage. No caution.

Lap 222: Sterling Marlin to the garage with engine problems.

Lap 212: Green flag. Biffle leads.

Lap 210: Joe Nemechek stays out, takes the lead, then heads to pit road.

Lap 208: Matt Kenseth back on pit road.

Lap 207: Most of the leaders on pit road. Another good stop for Biffle. Kahne gets an air pressure adjustment.

Lap 206: Michael Waltrip spins out Jeff Green to bring out the seventh caution of the night. Dale Jarrett gets the Lucky Dog.

Lap 200: Green flag. Biffle leads.

Lap 197: Sterling Marlin stays out to lead a lap.

Lap 196: Everyone on pit road. Biffle has a 14.9 second stop. Johnson has a 14.2 second stop. Kahne has a 14.8 second stop. Biffle will lead off pit road.

Lap 195: Caution is out for debris. Elliott Sadler gets the Lucky Dog.

Lap 195: Greg Biffle has a two-seconds lead.

Lap 192: Matt Kenseth makes unscheduled pit stop.

Lap 184: Halfway.

Lap 180: Only 22 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 176: Biffle leads Kahne by 2.634 seconds.

Lap 162: Greg Biffle is the leader. Pit cycle complete.

Lap 161: Johnson pits and gives up the lead to Ryan Newman. Good stop for Johnson.

Lap 160: Carl Edwards pits, gives up lead to Jimmie Johnson. Kahne is also on pit road. Edwards' stop is nearly 18 seconds.

Lap 159: Travis Kvapil has spun trying to hit pit road. No caution.

Lap 155: Carl Edwards takes the lead from Johnson. Jeff Gordon makes his green-flag stop in 14 seconds. Biffle stops in 13.8 seconds.

Lap 149: Matt Kenseth to pit road. Green flag stops are beginning.

Lap 144: Casey Mears has hit the wall and will head to pit road. No caution.

Lap 138: Kasey Kahne gets around Gordon for second.

Lap 128: Kevin Harvick, who started 24th, cracks the top five.

Lap 127: Jimmie Johnson passes Gordon for the lead.

Lap 122: Jeff Gordon has led 15 laps.

Lap 110: Jeff Gordon back in the lead. JImmie Johnson takes second.

Lap 107: Dale Earnhardt Jr. back in the top 10

Lap 103: Biffle back in front again.

Lap 101: Gordon passes Biffle for the lead. Seventh different leader.

Lap 100: Green flag. Biffle leads.

Lap 97: Everyone on pit road again. Biffle leads the race off pit road. Gordon is second and Johnson is third. Kahne is fourth and Mayfield fifth. Lepage and Kenny Wallace stay out a lap for track position but will soon head to pit road.

Lap 95: Caution out for Kenny Wallace spin.

Lap 94: Biffle gets around Gordon for second. Johnson continues to lead.

Lap 91: Biffle up to third and is the fastest car on the track.

Lap 84: Green flag. Jimmie Johnson leads.

Lap 82: Everyone on pit road. Jimmie Johnson leads off pit road. Kasey Kahne gains two positions, and Jeff Gordon gains four. Greg Biffle loses four spots on pit road because of a spring rubber change. Kyle Busch loses a lot of spots on pit road because of a dropped lug nut.

Lap 80: Caution out when Jeff Green spins and hits the wall.

Lap 78: Johnson takes the lead from Biffle.

Lap 72: Mayfield, Jimmie Johnson both within a second of Biffle

Lap 70: Carl Long to the garage

Lap 61: Kurt Busch is back in in the race.

Lap 60: Biffle has a 1.3-second lead.

Lap 58: Jeremy Mayfield gets around Sadler for second.

Lap 53: 39 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 45: Green flag. Greg Biffle leads.

Lap 42: Jeremy Mayfield scored as the leader.

Lap 41: Everyone on pit road except for Mike Wallace and Kevin Lepage. Biffle gets a wedge adjustment. Biffle has a 15.9 second stop. Mayfield gets a 16-second stop. Jimmie Johnson gains five spots in the pits. Kevin Harvick gains four spots in the pits.

Lap 40: Hermie Sadler back in the race.

Lap 39: Michael Waltrip returns to the race.

Lap 39: Caution is out for debris.

Lap 36: Biffle already has a four-second lead

Lap 35: Hermie Sadler to the garage

Lap 32: Biffle already has a three-second lead

Lap 26: Biffle reaches the end of the field, starts weaving through traffic.

Lap 25: Jeff Fuller to the garage.

Lap 22: Biffle already has a two-second lead

Lap 15: Elliott Sadler gets by Kahne for second.

Lap 13: First lead change of the night. Biffle goes by Kahne.

Lap 11: Green flag. Kasey Kahne leads. Greg Biffle is second.

Lap 7: A handful of cars will use this caution to come in and get tires. Jeff Green comes in to get his front-end taped up.

Lap 7: Caution is out. Michael Waltrip has hit the wall after a nudge from Jeff Green. Waltrip has extensive right-side damage.

Lap 6: Green flag. Kasey Kahne leads. Greg Biffle is second.

Lap 2: Caution is out for Kurt Busch crash. Busch gets loose coming out of Turn 4, hits the inside wall. Busch will go the garage for repairs.

Lap 1: Pattie Petty waves the green flag.
