Lap 30: Vickers gets into Bliss on the frontstretch going to the line, Vickers wins the Nextel Open. Vickers gets a spot in the Nextel All-Star Challenge. Lap 28: Bliss still leads. Lap 27: Three-car battle for the lead (Bliss, Kvapil, Brian Vickers) Lap 21: Bliss takes lead back from Kvapil. Lap 21: Green flag. Kvapil leads. Lap 20: Kvapil stays out, retains lead. Bliss, Ken Schrader, Brian Vickers stay out and will make up the first two rows. Lap 20: Several cars make stops, including Casey Mears, Ricky Rudd, Boris Said, Martin Truex Jr., Robby Gordon and Scott Wimmer. Lap 20: Mandatory caution is out. Kvapil led 12 of the first 20 laps. Lap 15: Travis Kvapil takes lead from Bliss. Lap 12: Bliss takes lead back from Kvapil. Lap 12: Green flag. Kvapil leads. Lap 9: Kyle Busch pits. So does Kyle Petty, Sterling Marlin, Jason Leffler and Jeff Biurton. All take four tires. Lap 8: Caution is out. Morgan Shephard has crashed his Dodge in Turn 4. Lap 5: Travis Kvapil takes lead from Bliss. Lap 5: Green flag. Bliss leads. Lap 1: Caution is out. Scott Riggs has pancaked his Chevy on the frontstretch. Lap 1: Mike Bliss leads Lap 1 from the pole. Pre-race: Dale Jarrett beats Kasey Kahne in FOX's Sexiest Driver Contest. This is a major upset. This is argubly the best thing to happen to Jarrett since he won the pole at the 2005 Daytona 500. |
