Jimmie Johnson, who started 41st and struggled with alternator problems all evening, wins his fourth consecutive race at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Lap 336 -- White flag, Johnson pulling away from Busch.

Lap 335 -- Johnson, Busch and Biffle as we go green.

Lap 330 -- Trouble for Rusty Wallace. He loops it on the backstretch. Caution flag flies. We'll be playing the green-white-checkered finish game.

Lap 329 -- Busch takes a look underneath Nemechek and makes the move on the backstretch, but Nemechek returns the favor out of 4.

Lap 323 -- Johnson gets a run and gets around Nemechek in Turn 1.

Lap 320 -- Johnson and Nemechek go side-by-side with Kurt Busch looming.

Lap 313 -- Green flag. Nemechek passes Rudd as Ricky and Jimmie Johnson touch. Johnson's car begins to smoke in the corners as the tire rubs on the left front fender.

Lap 308 -- This should be the final round of pit stops. Ricky Rudd beats the field out, followed by Joe Nemechek and Jimmie Johnson, as some teams opt for two tires instead of four.

Lap 307 -- The leader, Kahne, blows a right front but stays off the wall. Caution.

Lap 303 -- Kurt Busch closes right up on Kasey Kahne for the lead.

Lap 287 -- Green. Kahne, Newman, Mears, Martin and Ricky Rudd are your top five. Stewart is up to 25th because of the attrition.

Lap 279 -- Waltrip, McMurray and Dale Jarrett got caught up in a multi-car accident in the tri-oval. Caution.

Lap 275 -- Green flag.

Lap 272 -- Michael Waltrip pits while Kahne, Newman and Mears stay out.

Lap 269 -- Scott Riggs becomes the latest driver to flatten the right side of his car. Caution No. 11.

Lap 267 -- First Waltrip, then Kasey Kahne, get past Newman.

Lap 259 -- Green flag.

Lap 256 -- The engines have been refired and Sadler's crew goes to work on the battered No. 38.

Lap 255 -- They've thrown the red flag in an attempt to clean the entire track.

Lap 254 -- And Sadler's car turns sideways and collects the wall, almost exactly like Stewart. Caution again.

Lap 252 -- Newman leads 'em into Turn 1 as we go green again.

Lap 246 -- Newman nips Sadler at the pit road line to assume the lead.

Lap 244 -- David Stremme takes a hard hit courtesy of another blown tire and we're under caution again.

Lap 231 -- Tony Stewart, who was running 31st at the time, is bringing the car to the pits for more repairs.

Lap 222 -- Waltrip and Sadler bring 'em back to the green.

Lap 217 -- Tony Stewart suddenly spins and wrecks. Caution as Michael Waltrip takes over the lead and the Chase for the Nextel Cup standings get jumbled.

Lap 212 -- Rusty Wallace slows and heads for pit road under green.

Lap 207 -- Back to green flag racing. It's Stewart, Sadler, Waltrip and Dave Blaney.

Lap 200 -- Caution No. 8, perhaps a competition caution by NASCAR.

Lap 180 -- Green flag. Stewart leads Sadler, Martin, Newman and Waltrip.

Lap 173 -- This time, Kevin Harvick in the wall in Turn 4. Looks like the same issue -- right front tire. Caution No. 7.

Lap 162 -- And Stewart blows by Mears for first.

Lap 161 -- Stewart's back to second behind Mears.

Lap 156 -- Green flag.

Lap 152 -- Casey Mears takes only two tires and comes out first after the pit stops, followed by Sadler, Biffle and David Reutimann.

Lap 151 -- The race leader, Kyle Busch blows a right front just after entering the tri-oval. Yellow flag again as Busch takes the battered No. 5 Chevy behind the wall.

Lap 144 -- Kyle Busch goes to the front for the first time tonight.

Lap 131 -- Green, green, green. And there goes Sadler, pulling away again.

Lap 128 -- Stops for fresh tires and fuel. It's Sadler, Kurt Busch, McMurray and Kyle Busch -- as Scott Wimmer is the only one to stay out.

Lap 125 -- Yellow, yellow. This time, Sterling Marlin, who was running 11th, smacks the wall.

Lap 121 -- Michael Waltrip is now in the top five, after starting 32nd.

Lap 102 -- Kurt Busch and Jamie McMurray also get around Biffle, who may be struggling with blistering problems.

Lap 101 -- The green is out again, as Biffle leads the field. However, Sadler pulls even in Turn 1 and completes the pass before the start-finish line.

Lap 96 -- Leaders are on pit road. Biffle, Sadler, Kurt Busch lead the parade off pit road. Stuart Kirby gets a lap back.

Lap 95 -- Bobby Hamilton Jr. brings out the fourth caution after hitting the wall in Turn 4.

Lap 93 -- Greg Biffle gets by Sadler for the lead.

Lap 89 -- Stewart, who pitted after the leaders during the last caution, is back up to 18th.

Lap 83 -- Johnson breaks into the top five. Kenseth comes back onto the track, 12 laps down.

Lap 68 -- Green again, Sadler, Kurt Busch, Biffle are on top.

Lap 65 -- Newman leaves pit road with a gas can still attached.

Lap 63 -- Matt Kenseth has damage to the right front fender from another tire down.

Lap 62 -- Trouble for Dale Earnhardt Jr. He's in the wall after blowing a right front tire. Caution No. 3.

Lap 58 -- Matt Kenseth has gone from 18th to fourth.

Lap 46 -- Jeff Gordon gets into the wall hard in the dogleg while running sixth and slows. No caution yet. His crew pushes the No. 24 Chevy behind the wall.

Lap 41 -- Busch gets by Stewart for third.

Lap 36 -- Green again. Sadler, Stewart, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte and Mears your top five.

Lap 33 -- Sadler beats Stewart out of the pits.

Lap 32 -- Caution No. 2, this one scheduled for teams to check tires. Junior's up to 10th, while Jimmie Johnson has gone from 41st to 20th.

Lap 30 -- Stewart passes Sadler at the line for the lead and five bonus points.

Lap 23 -- Tony Stewart gets by Newman for second. Newman's heading for the pits with a possible tire problem. He's down a lap in 42nd.

Lap 22-- And polesitter Sadler passes Newman for the lead.

Lap 20 -- Ryan Newman has led every lap. There's a competition caution planned for lap 30 to check the tires.

Lap 18 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. is up to 15th after starting 28th.

Lap 8 -- Green flag as Newman paces the field.

Lap 2 -- Ryan Newman's in front as the left rear tire comes off Robby Gordon's car. Caution No. 1.

Lap 1 -- And we're finally under way, as Elliott Sadler goes to the front.

7:40 p.m. -- Parade laps are continuing.

7:31 p.m. -- And they've cranked the power plants at Lowe's.

7:27 p.m. -- Three minutes away from firing the engines, according to PRN.

7:24 p.m. -- The national anthem has been sung, but no command for drivers to start their engines yet.

7:00 p.m. -- Welcome to Lowe's Motor Speedway and the UAW-GM Quality 500. It promises to be perfect weather for tonight's race. Right now, it's clear and 75.
