NASCAR memoribilia collectors often have questions about the items they've accumulated. Here are our responses to some of your most recent inquiries: Q: Could you give me the values of these two Jeff Gordon cards: a 1995 MAXX Series One (No. 72) and a 1995 Action Packed Winston Cup Country (No. 63.) -- D.R. A: Both cards are fairly common. The MAXX card is worth $1 at best. The Action Packed card is worth slightly more or twice as much, whichever way you look at it. It tops out at around $2. Q: I would like to know the current value of Alan Kulwicki's "Reflections Of A Champion" by Chuck Jones Motorsports Collector Plate Series. It is trimmed in 22kt gold, and it is No. 10,280 of No. 17,000 collector plate. -- Debbie | | EMAIL | Got a collectible question? Email us!

A: A production run of 17,000 is pretty darn big especially for plates. So this piece doesn't get any points for rarity. However, this is a plate that, despite its big numbers, you don't see that often anymore. I'd place the value at $50-60. Q: I have a 2002 Dale Earnhardt Jr. Oreo Ritz 1:24th scale Action limited edition car from Snap-On. The box says 1 of 21,012 and the car is the blue No. 3. Does it have any value? -- Bill J. Cunningham A: Another big production run. This black window car is probably worth about $50, give or take 10 bucks. Q: I have a Racing Champions 1992 NASCAR CHAMPION Hooters Racing card autographed by the late Alan Kulwicki, in mint condition. How much is this card worth? Second, I have a MAXX '94 Premier Plus, WC Rookie of the Year, laminated Jeff Gordon card, in mint condition. How much is this card worth? -- Debbie A: The Kulwicki card would be worth more if you had the die-cast car that it came with. At any rate, if the signature can be authenticated, I'd place the card's value at around $100. Q: I have the special Crisco Edition, 1989 MAXX set that includes No. 14 of Neil Bonnett. Do you know the approximate value of this card, or this set? I also have a 1988 MAXX No.20 card of Neil Bonnett. Is this card worth anything? -- Dsween A: The entire Crisco set is worth $10-15. The Bonnett card is worth around $1. The 1988 MAXX Bonnett card is a $3-5 collectible. Q: I have a racing suit that Ricky Craven wore in his days driving the No. 25 Bud car for Hendricks. It is autographed and I have a picture of him autographing it for me. It is in excellent shape. Can you tell me its value? -- John Labonte. A: I went straight to Wayne Keith, the leading authority on race-used apparel, for this answer. Here's what he had to say: "I would place the value of Craven's Bud uniform in the $750-900 range Ricky's a nice guy, but not a real large fan base to drive up the values." Q: I have two 1:24 scale 1998 Winner's Circle Dale Earnhardt Daytona 500 Winner cars. It has the lucky penny in the windshield. One car is autographed; the other is not. Could you tell me how much each is worth? -- Jason A: You have one of the better Earnhardt Winner's Circle cars. I'd place the value of the car alone at around $75. You can add $100-125 for the signature. Q: I have several 1994 Action Platinum Series 1:64 scale stock cars. One is Dale Earnhardt's 1994 Lumina. It is 1 of 16,128. I also have Lake Speed's 1994 T-bird (1 of 10,080) and Kyle Petty's 1994 Pontiac (1 of 10,080.) I was wondering how much they are worth. -- Ola A: The Earnhardt car is likely worth $40-50. The Petty and Speed pieces would fall in the $6-10 range. Q: I have the Carl Edwards Shop Rat drivers suit that he wore at the second California race in 2004. It's also autographed with a Certificate of Authenticity. What do you think the value might be? -- Steve A: Again I defer to uniform guru Wayne Keith. Here's his answer: "Carl Edwards items are hot and not many available, this uniform should be worth $1800-2000." Q: I have a Daytona International Speedway NASCAR 25th anniversary patch that came off an old hat, any idea what it's worth? I also have a Dale Jr. Coca-Cola No. 1 jacket with the Polar bear on the back. I think it was the car he drove in Japan the first time he raced there. Any idea of the values? -- Kevin A: Neither are barnburners in terms of value. The patch is probably worth less than $5. The jacket would fall in the $25-50 range. |
