NASCAR memoribilia collectors often have questions about the items they've accumulated. Here are our responses to some of your most recent inquiries: Q: I have a "Dale Earnhardt Mom 'n' Pops Winston Cup Champion 1993" hat and was wondering if it is worth any thing. - Link A: Usually not a lot of collectible value in souvenir items like this. But because it's Earnhardt, and just about everything Earnhardt is collectible, I'll put a value of $15-20 on it. Q: I have a 1992 Hooters 500 unused ticket in good condition. This was Richard Petty's last race. It has a picture on the front with him and having 200 wins. Any idea of the value? - Steve Hall A: This is probably another $15-20 item. You could really enhance its value with a signature from either Petty or Jeff Gordon (it was Gordon's first Cup race) or both. | | EMAIL | Got a collectible question? Email us!

Q: I have 1994 Traks Premium Series I and II, both boxes full and unopened. Could you tell me how much they are worth? - Shannon A: If you mean you have both halves of the set, the value would be $20-30. If you mean you have a wax box from each series, the wax boxes would be worth $30-35 each. Q: I would just like to know if you could give me a value for my 1:64 scale Action Racing Collectibles Platinum Series Dale Earnhardt Limited Edition 1994 Lumina. I is one of 16,000. - Ethan A: This is a pretty strong little collectible. Its value would be in the $30-40 range. Q: I have a poster I'd like to know the value of. At the top is Snap On Racing kind of scrawled across with a picture of Earnhardt with trademark Gargoyle mirrored sunglasses on set against bricks (I assume to represent the Brickyard). Beneath him in the lower third of the poster, a picture of his car and pit crew in action at with the grandstands in the background. At the bottom, the words "Bustin' Bricks" and Dale Earnhardt's signature and car number as he would have written it (it is part of the poster not an actual signature). Nothing shows to designate the track other than as described above, though it is the Brickyard. There is no date on the poster but at the very bottom, left corner are the words "Sweepstakes prize nor for resale". - RLS A: A good poster here. I'd think it would be worth $30-50. Q: I have a 1994 Neil Bonnet Country Time limited edition car made by Action and still in its original package. I was wondering how much it is worth. - Eric A: There were actually three versions of this car. The promo car in a blister pack is worth $12-18. The ARC version is worth $18-20. The RCCA variation is the most valuable at $40-50. Q: My dad has found a Glenn "Fireball" Roberts knife. He says that it is number 450 of 1000. He says it is still in the display box. The knife was made by CASE. Do you have information on such an item? - Brad A: This is a trapper style knife. It's a very collectible piece, and worth $150-175. Q: I just bought a Dale Earnhardt Jr 2002 Oreo test car. It's one of 7776. It's a 1:24th scale made by Revell. What's it worth? I got it on e-bay for $10.00. I think I got a real steal. Is there any way of finding out what number of the 7776 I have? - Mark A: Mark, you got a great deal. This is a $50-60 piece. These cars were not individually numbered. So when it says 1 of 7776, it means you got one of 7776, not No. 1 of 7776. There's really no way to know what number in the production run your car is. Q: I have a Finish Line Gold $1000 Rusty Wallas card. It is 1 of 25 issued. It expired 06/30/97, and the PIN number is still covered. Is there any value here? - Bill A: First off, you were wise not to scratch off the PIN number. That helps the value. This card was actually produced in 1996. It is likely worth $30-40. Q: In April of 1999, I purchased a 1:24 scale Revell Collection 1999 Home Depot Tony Stewart Pontiac which came with a certificate of authenticity stating it was one of 3,120 produced. It came with a plastic display case and I have the receipt and also the original box which is in "like new" condition. I also bought the matching 1:64 scale die-cast. Just curious what they might be worth as a set or individually. - Brad J A: The 1:24 scale car has a collectible value that falls in the $125-175 range. The 1:64 car should be worth $25-40. |
