A legendary driver... A historic race... And a brilliant artist... Add the three together and you have the latest release in motorsports artist Garry Hill's highly-acclaimed All Star Series of limited edition prints. "NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge 2005" celebrates Mark Martin's emotional victory in last year's annual all-star shootout. Each individually-numbered print is hand-signed by both Hill and Martin himself. The artwork captures Martin in the Roush Racing retro No. 6 paint scheme taking a celebratory victory lap and dedicating the triumph to the fans at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 21, 2005. | | | Jack Roush, Mark Martin and artist Garry Hill at the unveiling of the new piece. The original artwork was unveiled to the public a few weeks ago at The Speedway Club. It was first shown to the media back in January. Martin called the victory one of his greatest accomplishments as a driver. "That's probably the most meaningful victory of my career," he joked, "and not just because I'm getting old and it's hard to remember the other ones." This marks the 19th year that Hill has chronicled NASCAR's all star race on canvas. "I really enjoyed working with Mark on this project," says Hill, one of the few artists ever officially licensed by NASCAR. "He is really one of the great old school racers. To have him call his win in last year's all star race one of his most meaningful victories, and then for me to be able to capture it on canvas, really meant a lot to me." | | SUPERSTORE | |

Edition size for NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge 2005 is limited to only 500 fine art prints and 50 artist's proofs. Prints are priced at $200, with artist's proofs set at $400. For more than two decades, Hill has captured on canvas the pivotal moments of NASCAR's most historic races. In addition to the "Great Moments in Racing" collection, his "All-Star Series" chronicles NASCAR's annual all-star clash at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The inaugural release in that collection commemorated the 1987 event and became the first signed and numbered NASCAR print ever published. "I always try to showcase the defining moment of each race featured in my artwork," Hill explained. "Everyone says a picture is worth a thousand words, but it's up to the artist to prove it. Picking that one defining moment is paramount." Hill is perhaps best known for his print entitled "The Pass in The Grass," which showcased Dale Earnhardt's daring move to the inside of Bill Elliott in the 1987 running of The Winston. That artwork was the initial release in the Great Moments in Racing Series, and is one of the most recognizable racing prints of all time.
