NASCAR memorabilia collectors often have questions about the items they've accumulated. Here are our responses to some of your most recent inquiries: Q: I have a 1995 RCCA Dale Earnhardt No. 3 Goodwrench Service Monte Carlo. There is a Skybox label in the corner. I have the card also. It has a clear windshield and both trunk and hood open. It is one of 5016 and mint in the box. I cannot find a listing anywhere for it. I'd like to know if it is worth anything. -- MM | | EMAIL | Got a collectible question? Email us!

A: A nice piece here, especially with the card still intact. The collectible value should lie in the $225-250 range Q: I have two Jeff Gordon cards by Maxx. The logo indicates dates 1988-1992 and these cards have copyright date of 1992. Both are black cards with photos of Jeff in the Carolina Ford Dealers uniform and baseball cap. One card has BGN Rookie stamped in gold foil on front. Both cards are in good condition. Just wondering how much they might be worth,if anything. -- tmeshleman A: Each of these cards in mint condition is worth $6-8. Q: Please inform me the value of an uncut sheet of 1994 Action Packed cards which measure 39"x 28" and features the mark of 1954/5000. The sheet is near mint and now in good care. -- Troy A: As I've said before, uncut sheets aren't worth nearly as much as they used to be. The fact that this one is numbered and part of a redemption program helps some. I'd place the value at $40-60. Q: I have a collectible Dale Earnhardt plate, "Rising Son," featuring artwork by Sam Bass. It is in excellent condition, also a limited addition. I have been wondering what the value of this plate is, but can never seem to find a website that will give me the information that I want. If you could please give me an idea of how much this item is worth, I would be most grateful. -- Stacy and Duane A: This is one of the more collectible NASCAR plates. It should be worth $60-65. Q: I have a set of Richard Petty Food Lion cards from 1992. How much are they worth? -- Charlie A: These cards were released during Petty's Farewell Tour. The complete 116-card set is worth $15-18. Q: Could you please tell me the value of the following 1:64 scale Racing Champions cars: Gold Chrome Commemorative Series, 1999 Ricky Rudd No. 10 Tide Car (hood opens, detailed engine compartment, real rubber tires, Gold Chrome Commemorative Series, 1999 Johnny Benson No. 26 Cheerios car, and a "Press Pass", Bobby Hamilton No. 4 car. -- Debster A: The gold cars are worth $10-15. The Hamilton is worth $4-6. Q: I have a 1995 Dale Earnhardt Winston Select 1:64 scale never been opened, but box has some damage. Could you possibly tell me how much it is worth? -- Matthew A: Of course, the damaged box hurts the value. Still, it should be worth $60-80. Q: I have a flag given to us by my mother-in-law. It is a Union 76 checkered flag that is stitched in orange "DAYTONA 1993 PEPSI 400" on it with all of the drivers autographs, including the winner of that race Dale Earnhardt. What would you say its value is worth? -- Florida A: Appraising signed flags is tricky because no two people think they are worth the same. At auction, I've seen these flags bring anywhere from $200-300 on up to more than $2000. So any value I place on it is purely arbitrary. Considering it was signed by Earnhardt and he won the race, I think it would be worth $1000-1200. Q: I have a 1993 Dale Earnhardt card No. 198. On the bottom, it says Sterling Marlin instead of Earnhardt. Have you heard of this card and is it worth anything? -- Mick A: Even in today's high tech world, mistakes like this are still common. And as I've noted a gazillion times before, those mistakes do not add to the value. Q: I have a Freedlander 200 magazine from Sunday, September 7, 1986. Inside I have Richard Petty's autograph below his picture. Also I have the envelope that my tickets were mailed in with the date stamped June 21, 1986. It has Dale Earnhardt's autograph on it. Can you give me the value? -- Bonnie Gaskins A: Richard Petty's autograph is easily the most obtainable of all sports figures. However, that tends to hurt the value a bit. So, your signed magazine is worth $30-50. It's a different story with the Earnhardt signature though. If it can be verified, it is easily worth $100-150, much more to the right autograph hound. |
