"We put our heart, soul and resources into David Gilliland," Clay Andrews said. "Personally and financially we do not feel it is best to move forward at this time."

CAR remains the only unaffiliated Busch Series competitor to win a race this season when Gilliland took the checkered flag at the Meijer 300. While there will be no racing in the foreseeable future for CAR, the team is not simply going into obscurity forever.

"We hope to be back in about three years," Andrews said. "I have my eye on a young but very talented driver that I would love to bring back into the Busch Series."

Andrews, who resides in Corona, Calif., will not be available for further comment.
