FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- Showcasing its commitment to Petty Enterprises, the makers of STP products Friday announced a return to the hood of the legendary No. 43 car being driven by former Cup champion Bobby Labonte.

The familiar red, white and blue STP logo will highlight a retro paint scheme designed to pay tribute to one of the longest-running sponsorships in the history of stock car racing and to launch the new STP Oil Stabilizer.

STP will be the primary hood sponsor of Labonte's No. 43 Dodge for the Aaron's 499 at the Talladega Superspeedway on April 30 and the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at the Richmond International Raceway on Sept. 9. To commemorate the occasion, the makers of STP products will donate $43 for each lap raced during these two events to the Petty family's charity, Victory Junction Gang Camp.

"We have been working hard to make Petty Enterprises a more dynamic, competitive racing team," said seven-time Cup champion Richard Petty. "We are excited to have Bobby behind the wheel this year, and it feels like old times again seeing the STP logo back on the hood of the No. 43."

Along with Labonte, Petty Enterprises has recruited veteran championship crew chiefs Robbie Loomis as executive vice president of operations and Todd Parrott as crew chief of the No. 43 car with hopes of bringing Petty Enterprises back to the winner's circle.

"It is a unique honor to drive the legendary No. 43 car with the STP logo back on the hood," Labonte said. "I am proud to be a part of this historic partnership and looking forward to driving this team back into Victory Lane."

One way the makers of STP products have supported Petty Enterprises off the track is through donations to Victory Junction Gang Camp. For the second year in a row, the makers of STP products will make a donation of more than $25,000.

The goal of the VJGC is to enrich the lives of children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses by creating camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.
