DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Sioux Honey Association, marketers of the Sue Bee brand of honey, have announced that they are expanding its racing program to include a three-year relationship with Petty Enterprises that involves Richard Petty, Kyle Petty and Bobby Labonte. All three NASCAR stars will represent Sue Bee Honey as spokespeople in the company's advertising, promotions, packaging and other marketing efforts. Sue Bee Honey also announced the next edition of its "Sweet Car Giveaway" promotions that have received national acclaim and huge consumer response during the past three years. This year's program will give a lucky consumer the chance to win a street-legal replica of Richard Petty's 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix, the car in which Petty won his 200th NASCAR victory. The original race car is on permanent display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Sue Bee Honey will begin accepting entries immediately. Consumers can enter to win and learn more about the promotion by visiting www.SueBee.com. Sue Bee's "Sweet Car Giveaway" promotions began three years ago and interest in the giveaway program has grown every year, generating more than 400,000 entries in last year's sweepstakes. To support the promotion, Sue Bee Honey will feature the "Drive Like the King" sweepstakes in Sunday newspaper inserts, NASCAR magazine advertising, national television advertising, special packaging, grocery store displays and Web site promotion. "Sue Bee Honey has shown how you can get started in NASCAR and keep getting bigger every year," said Richard Petty, a seven-time NASCAR champion. "We're a family-oriented team and Sue Bee has really become part of our family. We look forward to many years of them helping us race and of us helping them sell a great product that is made in the USA." "We'd heard lots of stories about the power of NASCAR, but we've seen that being associated with the right organization is critical," said Jim Powell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Sioux Honey Association. "The Pettys are fantastic. Everyone knows them and admires what they have accomplished on and off the track. When we tell a customer that we work with the Pettys, it really gets their attention." The Sioux Honey Association, the world's largest honey marketing organization, is a cooperative marketing association promoting the sale of Sue Bee Honey worldwide through all grocery, wholesale grocery, drug, industrial, foodservice and club stores throughout the world. Collectively, this coop produces about 40 million pounds of honey annually. Sue Bee Honey is the only nationally advertised brand of honey in the United States and only features honey from the U.S., earning its identity as "America's Honey."
