BURBANK, CA -- Hollywood and NASCAR will cross paths this weekend at California Speedway, as the No. 66 Haas CNC Racing Chevrolet will sport a special paint design promoting the syndication launch of According to Jim, in Sunday's Sony HD 500 Nextel Cup Series race.

The goal of this unique one-race sponsorship is to help publicize that this breakout family comedy, starring multi-talented film, television and stage actor Jim Belushi, will launch into national syndication five days a week on Monday, Sept. 18.

"It's fun to have 'According to Jim' partner with us," said Jeff Green, driver of the No. 66 entry. "I'm a fan of the show. His character is the kind of guy I can relate to. He's a family man, and he's still a big kid at heart, which is the way a lot of people describe me. It's a good fit. I'm looking forward to the show being in syndication, so I can catch up on some of the episodes I've missed.

"I hope we can give all the fans of the show something to cheer about on Sunday."

Jim Belushi will attend Sunday's race as both a performer and a spectator. He and his band, "Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts" will play for fans at the California Speedway midway prior to the race. Belushi then plans to attend the drivers' meeting and talk to media members before the race gets underway. In addition, Jim will also serve as the honorary race official.

"We're trying to get the word out that "According to Jim" will be on the air five days a week beginning this fall, and the California Speedway is a great place to do this," said Belushi. "I am also a huge fan of NASCAR, but have never performed at a speedway before. I'm really excited because I think the crowd will definitely connect with our music."

Fans attending Sunday's race can pick up a free copy of a promotional "According to Jim" DVD at various points around the speedway, and at the Best Buy "Fun Zone" interactive display on the Midway.
