11:34 AM EDT (15:34 GMT)

The fourth annual Ride To Victory, a Kyle Petty Charity Ride, is set to take place Oct. 15 with NASCAR legend Bill Elliott serving as the ride's grand marshal.

More than 400 riders are expected to take part in this year's event and the goal is to top the $43,000 that was raised last year.

KYLE PETTY CHARITIES

The ride, which will give fans the chance to ride across North Carolina with other NASCAR celebrities, will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a year-round facility serving children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. The Victory Junction Gang Camp is a member of The NASCAR Foundation Family of Charities.

The one-day motorcycle ride, scheduled the day after the Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, will rally at Carolina Harley-Davidson in Gastonia, N.C., Tilley Harley-Davidson in Statesville, N.C., and Gene Lummus Harley-Davidson in Swannanoa, N.C. The full group will depart from Carolina Harley-Davidson at noon and the ride will conclude at the Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, N.C.

NASCAR CHARITIES

Founded in 2003, the Ride To Victory builds upon the success of the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. Since its formation, the Ride Across America has logged more than 48,000 miles, with more than 5,000 riders raising $9 million for various children's hospitals and charities.

"The Ride To Victory event has been a great fund-raiser for us," camp co-founder Kyle Petty said. "The fans, drivers and crew members in the greater Charlotte area have really found this to be an event they can't miss."
