CONCORD, N.C. -- Carl Edwards will return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Roush Racing in the No. 50 Ford F-150 on Friday in the AAA Insurance 200 at Dover International Speedway. "This is awesome to get back and race in the Truck Series again," Edwards said. "I've been bugging Jack for months to let me run a race or two. I'm glad he finally caved in and let me do this deal. The trucks are so much fun, they really are a blast to drive. I'm really looking forward to getting out there Friday and seeing what we can do." Edwards, who has six wins in 57 Craftsman Truck Series starts, will attempt to make his third start at Dover. He has had some success there, picking up a pole in 2004. Edwards last raced in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2004, when he competed in the season-ending Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Most recently, Edwards participated in the filming of Discovery Channel's "Roush Racing: Driver X" reality show at Darlington Raceway. "Greg Biffle and I got to race the trucks a little down in Darlington last summer," Edwards said. "We were supposed to show the Driver X guys how to get around the place, lead them then chase them for a few laps. We had five trucks down there, I was hoping they would put them all out on the track so we could have our own little race. It's just so much fun to compete in the Craftsman Truck Series, so it's going to be a pretty cool weekend." David Ragan will return to the seat in the Sam's Town 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway. |
