Darnell took the lead from Terry Cook with less than 25 laps to go and appeared in good shape to win his first Truck Series race. But Sprague, a three-time champion, would have none of it. Sprague edged his way around Darnell and kept the rookie at bay. But a caution with three laps to go bunched things up again and forced a green-white-checkered finish. On the restart, Sprague jumped on the gas immediately and cruised to victory. Darnell held on for a career-best finish of second. Matt Crafton finished third, followed by Ron Hornaday and Mike Bliss. Points leader Todd Bodine finished 15th. Dennis Setzer appeared like a contender, but his chances for victory went out the window when his truck fell off the jack in the pits with a tire not on solidly. After leading much of the night or following Sprague in second, Setzer finished 10th. Stay with NASCAR.COM for more. |
