Lap 66 -- Carl Edwards, who started 31st, is now running second after passing Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Lap 62 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon gets back by Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Lap 60 -- LEAD CHANGE: Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes command after battling Jeff Gordon side-by-side. Crew chief Tony Eury Jr. radioed that a big storm is an hour and a half away.

Lap 58 -- Kyle Petty and Elliott Sadler, who stayed out, hit pit road.

Lap 57 -- Kyle Petty stays out to lead a lap. Elliott Sadler tried to lead a lap, but NASCAR determined Sadler did not maintain speed to be the leader after he faked coming to pit road.

Lap 56 -- All the leaders head down pit road.
• All drivers take four tires and fuel
• Jeff Gordon is out first, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
• Kyle Busch improved four spots to 10th
• Kasey Kahne gets the free pass

Lap 55 -- YELLOW FLAG: Rain is coming down again at Michigan.

Lap 51 -- Kasey Kahne is now running 38th. Clint Bowyer, who went behind the wall on the Lap 22 caution, is back on the track 26 laps down in 41st.

Lap 47 -- Kasey Kahne, who was battling Jeff Gordon for the lead, hits pit road. His water temperature was above 200 degrees because of debris on the grille.

Lap 46 -- Denny Hamlin, who started 21st and is the only Gibbs car left on the track, is running eighth.

Lap 36 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon gets around Kasey Kahne to lead.

Lap 34 -- Jamie McMurray is on pit road for extra adjustments after the accident, as is Jeff Green. Kyle Busch also hits pit road again. Jeff Gordon is upset with Jimmie Johnson for racing three-wide.

Lap 33 -- Kasey Kahne assumes the lead after Kyle Busch pits.

Lap 32 -- Cars that did not pit earlier now hit pit road for adjustments.

• Matt Kenseth has the hood up on his racecar

Lap 31 -- YELLOW FLAG: J.J. Yeley is spun by Jamie McMurray and collects Ken Schrader and Joe Nemechek. Yeley has rear damage, while Schrader has has major nose damage. Nemechek has the least of the problems.

Lap 30 -- Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson restarted ninth, 10th and 11th. But they have moved up three positions each since the flag waved.

Lap 27 -- Tony Stewart has taken his car to the garage and is underneath it working to beat out the damage. The rear clip is bent on Stewart's machine.

• Ryan Newman gained 18 positions with two tires and is fifth.
• Mark Martin gained 11 spots to ninth

Lap 22 -- YELLOW FLAG: Tony Stewart turns and slams into the wall with major rear damage. He was clipped by Jeff Green going into Turn 3. Clint Bowyer tagged Stewart after he came down from the wall.

Lap 14 -- Matt Kenseth makes another stop with tape all over the front of his Ford.

Lap 13 -- Matt Kenseth has made several stops to repair right-front corner damage. Kenseth took right sides only during initial pitting, but he hit Bill Lester's car on pit road exiting.

Lap 11 -- Nearly half the field hits pit road.
• Mark Martin may have taken gas only and is out first
• Kyle Busch comes out second
• The top five stay out

Lap 10 -- YELLOW FLAG: Raindrops are falling on the speedway. Kasey Kahne (second) reports no problems from his practice damage on Saturday, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. (third) "likes his racecar."

Lap 5 -- Robby Gordon has made multiple pit stops but has not lost a lap. He runs 43rd.

Lap 3 -- YELLOW FLAG: Robby Gordon spins coming off Turn 2 but doesn't hit anything.

Lap 2 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon moves to the inside of Kasey Kahne as they cross the line. It's the 18th Michigan race Gordon has led.

2:35 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon get the race started as cars branch out three-wide.

2:34 p.m. -- Ryan Newman to the rear for changing a transmission. He was set to start 42nd anyway.

2:25 p.m. -- Adam Sandler wishes all fathers a Happy Father's Day and a hello to military men and women overseas before delivering the best line of the day: "GENTLEMEEEEEN, START YOOOOUR ENGINES."

2:01 p.m. -- Adam Sandler joins the gang in the Hollywood Hotel. He said being at Talladega last year -- his first race -- was unbelievable and that he ate a "lot of turkey legs." What about slooopppppy joes?

1:52 p.m. -- Rain is falling lightly, but enough to have all the cars covered and each pit box covered.

1:45 p.m. -- Jeff Gordon's wrecked car from last week is junk, and the team had to scrap it. Apparently, the impact carried 64 G-forces and was the second-hardest hit NASCAR's black box has recorded.

1:41 p.m. -- There's a slight delay in action, as sprinkles are dotting Michigan International Speedway. Dryers are on the track, but no major moisture is there ... yet.

1:35 p.m. -- Umbrellas are out on pit road as the command is minutes away.

1:28 p.m. -- Happy Father's Day to all NASCAR dads ... and dads who don't like NASCAR, too.

1:26 p.m. -- Josh Gracin performs the American national anthem.

1:24 p.m. -- Lisa Bascom of Michigan International Speedway performs the Canadian national anthem.

1:23 p.m. -- Invocation.

1:21 p.m. -- D.W. and Jeff Hammond do their drive-n-ride, and instead of the typical cruise around the track, they do burnouts. Hands down the best version of this segment.

1:16 p.m. -- Adam Sandler is the grand marshal today, and D.W. fantasizes what it would be like to have a remote in racing like Sandler has in his latest movie, Click. Might want to be careful with that D.W.

1:10 p.m. -- Darrell Waltrip says if Jeff Gordon plans on making the Chase, he has got to be good today.

1:02 p.m. -- FOX is on the air, and the talk is about Denny Hamlin and how video games have fueled his racing talent.

11:45 a.m. -- It's a cloudy 77 degrees at Michigan with wind blowing. Whispers of rain are everywhere, but word is the moisture is set for later in the afternoon.
