Lap 93 -- Tony Stewart loses two positions and is smoking heavily now. His car is down a cylinder.

Lap 92 -- Tony Stewart may be developing a problem with the engine. His car is smoking, and it could be a valve problem.

Lap 88 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon catches and passes Terry Labonte in Turn 11 to take the lead once again.

Lap 84 -- Kevin Harvick heads to pit road for an unscheduled stop. He thought there was a tire issue, but it turned out to be his wheel.

Lap 84 -- Tony Stewart moves into second position, getting around Ryan Newman. Jeff Gordon has cut Terry Labonte's lead to 3.324 seconds and continues to run the fastest laps.

Lap 80 -- Terry Labonte continues to lead with a 7.035-second advantage over Jeff Gordon. Labonte has not made his final pit stop, but the team claims he can make it all the way. Problem is Gordon has knocked 5 seconds off the lead in five laps.

Lap 76 -- Robby Gordon hits pit road with a blown left-front tire. As he enters pit road, he brushes the wall. His day is over.

Lap 72 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jimmie Johnson gives up the lead to Terry Labonte as he heads to pit road.

Lap 71 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon heads to pit road to make his pit stop, giving up the lead to Jimmie Johnson. Gordon's stop was flawless.

Lap 70 -- Tony Stewart heads to pit road while running second.

Lap 69 -- Ryan Newman gives up second place, and Greg Biffle follows him to make pit stops. Most of the field heads to pit road for their final pit stops.

Lap 68 -- Dale Jarrett spins into the grass by himself, but there is no caution.

Lap 68 -- Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch head to pit road while running in the top five.

Lap 65 -- Robby Gordon is on pit road earlier than expected. He thought he had a tire going down, and his crew is working on cosmetic damage. Reed Sorenson pits, too.

Lap 64 -- Kyle Busch is on pit road. He has had a loose racecar all day.

Lap 63 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. heads to pit road because of damage he suffered spinning with Scott Pruett. Because he pits so early, he will have to make another stop.

Lap 62 -- Scott Pruett is off the course, getting tagged in Turn 1 and taking Dale Earnhardt Jr. with him. Half a lap later, Jimmie Johnson (seventh) does a 360-degree spin and falls to 14th.

Lap 54 -- Brian Vickers is running 14th after starting 41st. He is the race's biggest gainer since the start.

Lap 51 -- Tony Stewart runs Boris Said to the outside of Turn 11 as the two battle for eighth. The two make contact, and Stewart's car has left-front damage with a strong tire rub.

Lap 50 -- LEAD CHANGE: Jeff Gordon out-brakes Ryan Newman in Turn 11 and takes the lead.

Lap 45 -- Scott Pruett spins the No. 40 Dodge around in Turn 7, but there is no caution. Pruett may have gotten a nudge by Elliott Sadler.

Lap 44 -- Ron Fellows is on pit road to change a flat tire.

Lap 43 -- Reed Sorenson spins in Turn 7 and sits as the field passes. Jamie McMurray gave him a little help. No caution. Meanwhile, Jeff Gordon moves past Kevin Harvick for second.

Lap 22 -- Robby Gordon tries to get around Ryan Newman but locks up the wheels and slides into the pavement. Kevin Harvick gets by him, but Gordon immediately gets the spot back.

Lap 18 -- Robby Gordon is running the fastest laps and has moved into third place behind the Penske teammates.

Lap 10 -- Kurt Busch's lead has jumped to 2.401 seconds over teammate Ryan Newman.

Lap 1 -- RED FLAG: The cars have stopped in in Turn 7 as the mess of wreckage gets cleaned up.
• Ken Schrader is OK and says he doesn't know if someone turned him
• Sterling Marlin is fine too: "Typical road course stuff. I thought he was going to the right, and he went to the left. Wasn't nowhere to go."

Lap 1 -- YELLOW FLAG: Ken Schrader crashes in Turn 8, and Sterling Marlin T-bones him as his car rolls back onto the surface. Tom Hubert collects the two as well. Casey Mears is damaged but drives away. Jamie McMurray and others spin in the congestion.

Lap 1 -- Jamie McMurray and Bobby Labonte go spinning off the course into the dirt on the first set of turns.

3:52 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Kurt Busch and Jamie McMurray unleash everyone up the curvy hill to get it started.

3:38 p.m. -- Martin Truex Jr. to the back for an engine change. He qualified 39th.

3:38 p.m. -- Cheech Marin and Dodge representatives: "Gentlemen, fire 'em up and start your engines!"

3:37 p.m. -- Greg Biffle's team was flown to the track on a Chinook helicopter, military style.

3:33 p.m. -- In the season-best of 10 Laps, Carl Edwards says everywhere he goes people ask him to do backflips. What would it be like -- as it is in the commercial -- if Edwards flipped everywhere he went?

3:31 p.m. -- Chris Isaak and Kenny Dale Johnson sing the national anthem.

3:30 p.m. -- Invocation.

3:24 p.m. -- Chris Isaak performs a concert at the track. With his hair, his blue leisure suit and the signature "Uh, huh" sounds, it looks like The King is performing. And we're not talking about Richard Petty.

3:17 p.m. -- Boris Said says road racers are better looking drivers. A shot of him holding his son shows the hair runs in the family.

3:11 p.m. -- D.W. and Jeff Hammond both agree -- no rookie can win today. FYI: There are only four drivers in today's field who have won a Cup race at Infineon.

3:02 p.m. -- FOX is on the air, and the immediate talk is about Jeff Gordon -- considered the best road racer in NASCAR. An interview with Tony Stewart reveals a comfortable champ who'll try to defend last year's win.

1:45 p.m. -- It's mostly sunny and 65 degrees in wine country, as the green flag for today's Dodge/Save Mart 350 is two hours away and counting.
