Lap 263 -- YELLOW FLAG: Matt Kenseth spins as Jeff Gordon is on his tail. Kenseth radios to his crew that Gordon spun him and should receive a penalty. Lap 89 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. moves to second place around Bobby Labonte. Both drivers are complaining of how their cars have trouble turning in the middle of the corners. Greg Biffle and Scott Riggs are in Tony Stewart has a clean, fast stop Lap 57 -- Reed Sorenson gives up 10th place to make his pit stop, while teammate Casey Mears heads to pit road right behind him. Bobby Labonte Lap 40 -- Carl Edwards reports he knocked the front alignment out when he hit the wall. He is running 42nd, one lap down. Lap 30 -- Reed Sorenson has cracked the top 10 after starting 18th, while Jeff Gordon is running fifth after starting 13th. Lap 15 -- Carl Edwards brushed the wall and has somewhat pancaked his right side. He's running 31st. Lap 10 -- Tony Stewart has moved into 17th position after starting 34th. Lap 7 -- Matt Kenseth (sixth) may have a tire going down, but he has passed up pit road twice because of communication problems. Turns out no problems, just a loose racecar. 3:46 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Burton and Brian Vickers lead the field to green for the USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland.  |  | HELTON GIVES WARNING | NASCAR president Mike Helton issued a warning before Saturday's Busch Series race that violators of inspection will be dealt with harshly, as was the case when two crew chiefs were suspended for six races after violations last weekend at Daytona.
To be fair, he issued the same warning at the drivers' meeting before Sunday's Nextel Cup race.
"We're in a mode right now where we're going to escalate our reaction until we get the issue across the board that everybody is a whole lot better off if they play inside the box," Helton said. "If you choose to test the rules and regulations, we may react more severely than you've ever seen us react without warning."
