Lap 186 -- Kurt Busch eases around Jeff Gordon on the inside to take second place. Lap 184 -- Jeff Gordon is on the rear bumper of Denny Hamlin and threatens for the lead, but Hamlin pulls away. Lap 142 -- The top three Hendrick cars are running fourth (Jeff Gordon), fifth (Jimmie Johnson) and seventh (Brian Vickers). The top three Roush cars are running 10th (Matt Kenseth), 11th (Mark Martin) and 12th (Jamie McMurray). Lap 134 -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Petty are both back on the racetrack, as all 43 cars are still running. Lap 130 -- Denny Hamlin holds a 3.933-second lead after green-flag pit stops. 1. He gets four tires and fuel. Lap 42 -- Brian Vickers and Jeff Burton are on Ryan Newman's bumper for the lead. Lap 40 -- Tony Stewart passes Ryan Newman to get back on the lead lap. Tony Stewart drove into Clint Bowyer coming off Turn 3, and Bowyer went spinning and collected Edwards. Lap 25 -- On the restart, Michael Waltrip slams into the wall and sends all the cars near the back scurrying out of the way after Jeremy Mayfield hit his bumper. No caution. Lap 18 -- Denny Hamlin reports to crew chief Mike Ford he's just riding around, although he has a 7.052-second lead. He has been the fastest car in all 18 laps. Lap 12 -- After starting in 14th position, Clint Bowyer is up to eighth. Lap 6 -- Denny Hamlin's lead is 2.948 seconds over Brian Vickers, who passed Ryan Newman. Lap 1 -- Denny Hamlin leads the first lap easily after battling Ryan Newman side-by-side for half the lap. 2:15 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG: Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman get the Pennsylvania 500 going. 2:13 p.m. -- No cars to the back of the field. Hamlin, who spun out in June, spreads grass all over the inside of the car. Then Edwards spins the car out in the grass. 2:04 p.m. -- "Gentlemen, start your engines." 1:57 p.m. -- Clark Luis sings the national anthem. 1:56 p.m. -- Invocation. 1:45 p.m. -- Driver Stephen Leicht says he's a little in awe of his first Cup Series start today at Pocono. 1:41 p.m. -- Denny Hamlin says he would have been happy racing in the Busch Series every day and says every day he can't believe he's in the Nextel Cup Series. Two years ago, the Pocono winner was welding hitches for his dad's business. 1:35 p.m. -- Tony Stewart on dirt racing at Jimmy Spencer's place: "IROSH -- International Race of Blank-Heads.
