Lap 83: Caution -- Michael Waltrip slams into the tire barrier, possibly after contact with Clint Bowyer. Lap 82: Lead change -- Tony Stewart blows by Kevin Harvick for the lead. Lap 82: Green flag -- Kevin Harvick leads. Jamie McMurray tries to get by second-place Tony Stewart. Lap 81: Pit stops -- Twenty-fifth-place Jimmie Johnson comes to pit road for some tires. Lap 78: Caution -- Casey Mears has spun -- twice -- at the end of the straightaway. Lap 73: Dale Earnhardt Jr. spins out -- but gets the car refired. No caution. Junior now in 36th. Lap 69: Tony Stewart passes Jamie McMurray for second -- and set his sights on race leader Kevin Harvick. Lap 68: Tony Stewart is pushing Jamie McMurray for second place. Lap 67: Green flag -- Kevin Harvick leads. And Jeff Gordon has been spun around. No caution. Lap 66: Both Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch make more repairs on pit road. Lap 63: Kurt Busch pits, pulls out some sheet metal and goes back out. Matt Kenseth's car is crumpled, but on the track. Lap 62: Caution -- A big wreck. Joe Nemechek, Sterling Marlin, Scott Wimmer, Matt Kenseth, Dave Blaney, Kurt Busch all involved. Lap 62: Green flag -- Kevin Harvick leads with Jamie McMurray second. Lap 61: Leader Kevin Harvick is losing fuel out of the overflow. Crew chief Todd Berrier says they will "cross their fingers and hope." Lap 60: Caution -- Mark Goossens spins. Lap 58: Kevin Harvick passes Reed Sorenson for lead. Lap 57: Green flag -- Kurt Busch tried to start second, NASCAR threatened to be black flagged, Busch pulled over, let the field go by and started 40th. Reed Sorenson leads. Lap 55: Tony Stewart scored as the leader. It was determined that Kurt Busch pitted too soon, so he goes to the end of the longest line. Leaders head to pit road. Tony Stewart wins the race off of pit road. Lap 54: Caution -- Joe Nemechek hits the tire barrier. Kurt Busch hits pit road, but it appears he is pitting while pit road is closed. NASCAR is looking at the situation. Lap 53: Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Scott Riggs and Jamie McMurray to pit road. Lap 52: Kyle Petty has stopped for fuel. Lap 47: Green flag -- Kurt Busch leads. Tony Stewart is second and Robby Gordon is third. Lap 46: Kasey Kahne heads to pit road in an attempt to gain track position later. Lap 43: Caution -- Greg Biffle is riding around with big left rear damage thanks to contact with Kyle Petty. He's hit the inside guard rail and no has radiator problems. They'll head to the garage. Lap 42: Green flag -- Kurt Busch leads with Tony Stewart second and an increasingly impatient Robby Gordon third. Lap 40: Caution -- Bill Elliott makes contact with Dave Blaney and ends up in the sand at the inner loop. Lap 36: Green flag -- Kurt Busch leads. Meanwhile, Kyle Busch is back in the race, six laps down. Lap 33: Caution -- Marc Goossens spins. Lap 31: Tony Stewart passes Ken Schrader (still to pit) for second. Lap 31: Green flag -- Kurt Busch leads as Kyle Petty dives on pit road just before the green. Lap 29: Caution -- Kyle Busch loses a right-rear tire coming out of the inner loop. It's a broken tire mount. They're in the garage fixing it. Kyle Petty leads. Lap 26: Leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. pits with Tony Eury Jr. as the front tire changer. Scott Wimmer leads. Lap 25: Boris Said takes a spin. No caution. Lap 25: Leader Jimmie Johnson in for four tires and air pressure adjustments. Dale Earnhardt Jr. inherits the top spot. Lap 24: Leader Jeff Gordon makes his stop along with Kasey Kahne, Mark Martin and Ron Fellows. Jimmie Johnson inherits the lead. Meanwhile, Tony Stewart gets around Kurt Busch. Lap 23: Leaders Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart make their pit stops. Meanwhile, Jeff Gordon inherits the lead. Busch wins the battle off of pit road. They come out 17th and 18th. Lap 22: Ryan Newman misses his pit, backs up and gets in the right pit box. Lap 21: Kyle Busch in for adjustments. They take a pound out of both rear tires. Boris Said and Robby Gordon also in for adjustments. Lap 19: Matt Kenseth in for a chassis adjustment. Martin Truex Jr. also on and off pit road. Lap 17: Kevin Harvick heads to pit road for a scheduled stop. Lap 16: Green-flag pit stops begin as Jeff Burton and Greg Biffle are in. Biffle stalls the car laving pit road. Lap 13: Kurt Busch continues to lead, with Tony Stewart in second and Ryan Newman third. Lap 8: Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson make contact and Harvick appears to have right-side damage. Lap 8: Green flag -- Ryan Newman leads, but not for long as Kurt Busch takes the spot. Lap 6: Paul Menard gets a pass-through penalty for missing the inner loop. Lap 5: Caution -- Casey Mears turns Elliott Sadler into the sand trap. Ryan Newman still leads. Lap 4: Terry Labonte No. 96 car has problems. They're complaining of a broken rear end. Second and third gear are broken. They are in the garage. Lap 1: Lead change -- Ryan Newman leads the first lap. Meanwhile, Kurt Busch has already paid back Kasey Kahne. 1:50 p.m. -- Green flag. Kurt Busch leads. Almost immediately, Kasey Kahne gets in the back of polesitter Kurt Busch. 1:34 p.m. -- Bill DeRosa from AMD gives the command to start engines. 1:25 p.m. -- Kristen Chenowith belts out the national anthem 1:18 p.m. -- If it comes down like it did yesterday, Kurt Busch says he has to keep the car "on the asphalt." 1:17 p.m. -- Kasey Kahne tells Dave Burns that he hopes "to stay out of Robby Gordon's way." 1:08 p.m. -- As Dave Burns interviewed Tony Stewart, someone stuck a Sharpie in Stewart's ear. The culprit is unknown. 1:00 p.m. -- NBC is on the air. 12:22 p.m. -- Mark Martin announces for the eight-hundredth time that he may retire, but then again he may not. He's gonna run the full Truck Series, 12 Cup races yada, yada, yada. 12:00 p.m. -- We're about 90 minutes from the start. If you're building a fantasy team, keep in mind that Mark Martin, Sterling Marlin and Greg Biffle will start in the back. Marlin and Martin made engine changes and Biffle had to go to a backup car. |
