It's everything you need to know about NASCAR but don't know who to ask... The Official NASCAR Preview and Press Guide has been the trackside companion of race fans for more than two decades.

"It's the race fan's Bible, and that's the way it has been since our inaugural issue back in 1986," says Ward Woodbury, managing editor of UMI Publications, the firm that publishes both the NASCAR Nextel Cup Yearbook and the Official NASCAR Preview and Press Guide. "We try to pack as much usable information into the Preview and Press Guide as possible each year. It's the only preview and press guide officially licensed by NASCAR, and fans get the same information that is made available to the members of the media."

The Official NASCAR Preview and Press guide 2007 is now on sale in the NASCAR.com Superstore.

This year's soft bound magazine-style publication boasts a whopping 450 pages filled to the brim with information, statistics, schedules, track info, and driver profiles.

"These are the official statistics as compiled by NASCAR itself," says Woodbury. "We provide in depth coverage of NASCAR's top three divisions: the NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck series. Plus, we cover NASCAR short track racing. Every track and every division under NASCAR sanction is included."

Well over a dozen feature stories chronicle the year that was while giving fans a glimpse at the season to come. You'll read about the champions and challengers, as well as special events like the Budweiser Shootout and NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge-plus extensive coverage of the Chase For The NASCAR Nextel Cup.

Let's not forget about special honors like the Budweiser Pole and Raybestos Rookie of The Year awards. Those competitions are documented too.

History buffs will find themselves lost in the stats that reflect NASCAR's legacy.

And photography? Hundreds of full color photos punctuate the Official NASCAR Preview and Press Guide 2007, giving many fans their first look at the season's new paint schemes.

Each venue on the NASCAR Nextel Cup schedule is spotlighted with information regarding things like track configuration, track records, previous race winners -- even the phone numbers for ticket sales.

This publication is as crucial to fans headed to the race track as sunglasses and a cooler. It brings new meaning to the phrase "don't leave home without it."
