NASCAR memorabilia collectors often have questions about the items they've accumulated. Here are our responses to some of your most recent inquiries:
Q: I have a Jeff Gordon IPM porcelain collectible, 1:12 scale, 1 of 2000. I have never seen one on ebay. Can you tell me what this is worth? -- Colin
A: This is one of the more coveted porcelain cars. It is worth $200-300.
Q: I have the one and only rear deck lid from Davey Allison's Buster 007 No. 28 Havoline Ford. I have had it for about six yrs. It once belonged to a Speedway Club member at LMS. As you know, prior to his death in 1993, Davey won Daytona and the Winston (1st time under the lights) going backwards in this car. It was totaled! What do you think it might be worth? Oh, It is in pristine condition. Just the way it came off the car with hood pins attached and all. -- Michael Hicks

A: Michael, this is a great collectible off a very historic race car. A few years ago, it would have been worth much more than it is today. But as you may know, the market for race-used sheet metal has cooled off a little bit. And, as much as it pains me to say it, most of the current NASCAR collector base is more interested in the here-and-now than the great, historic stars and cars of yesteryear. Personally, I think in today's climate, if it can be verified as being off 007, this deck lid would be worth $400-700. Years ago, it would have been worth more. And years from now, it will be worth more again.
Q: I have a 40th Anniversary Daytona 500 Collectors Ticket No. 1797 of 1998. I was curious as to what its current value may be. I've run multiple searches but have come up with nothing and I was hoping you could help me out. -- Chance
A: Right now, I'd say that ticket is worth $20-45. There is plenty of room for appreciation, and it will no doubt go up in value in the future.
Q: I appreciate you taking the time to look through my email and pass on some values related to the items in question. First, I have a NASCAR Monopoly Official Collector Edition (with eight pewter collectible tokens) game that still has the original plastic on it. Obviously, it has never been opened.
The second item in question is a ceramic Dale Earnhardt Sr. statue made by Character Collectibles. This is No. 6077 out of only 9333 made. I have the original certificates of authenticity. This item stands approximately 19" tall. This statue has never been on display and has been kept in its box with original foam packaging. Finally, I have a fiberglass Coca Cola machine front (full size) of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Its dimensions are approximately 36"x76". This has been used on a Coca-Cola machine, but was pulled after his death. I was working with Coca-Cola at the time and eventually this was given away as an attendance prize. -- Andy Tieken
A: Andy, the Monopoly game hasn't gained much in value. Depending on which version you have, I'd place the value at $35-50. I'd place the collectible value of the statue at $75-100. The Coke machine cover is an interesting piece. Shortly after Earnhardt's death, I saw these selling for $800-1000 apiece. The price has come down tremendously in the past four or five years. I'd place the current value at $150-300.
Q: My dad has an original program from the first 1959 Daytona 500 Race held in February 1959. The program is in good shape and we are curious as to its value. --Julie
A: Great program Julie. If it is in really good condition, it is worth $500-650.
Q: I have a 1:25 scale Dale Earnhardt 7-Time Champion set, one of 25,000 made by Brookfield 1995. How much is it worth? -- Wayne Gargu
A: I've seen this set selling for as little as $55. But in terms of collectibility, I think it is worth a little more. I'd put the value at $80-110.
Q: For my birthday this year, my husband got me an autographed 1985 Sports Illustrated with Bill on the cover. I was wondering how much it would be worth right now. -- Toni
A: Great collectible. It should be worth $35-50.
Q: I have six Dale Earnhardt steins dated 1980, '86, '87, '91, '93, and '94 Winston Cup champion. Are they worth anything? -- Carrie
A: This is part of a series by Hunter featuring NASCAR champions. The Earnhardt steins are probably now worth $25-35 each.
Q: I have an 02 Press Pass Profile Mark Martin insert. It's printed on plastic and is transparent. It's numbered PR2/9. Worth anything? -- Steve.
A: This insert is part of the Press Pass Stealth set. In mint condition, it is likely worth $5-8.
Q: I have two 1998 No. 30 die-casts. They are 1:24 scale 24kt. gold racing cars with boxes. I cannot make out the signature on the car, but the sponsor is Bryan. Are they worth anything? -- Bobby
A: These cars were produced by Racing Champions. The driver was Derrike Cope. The 24K gold version of this car is probably worth $22-35.
