10 Questions: B. Gaughan

1. What's the best advice you ever received, and who was it from?

Brendan Gaughan: I've received a lot of good advice, some of it's unrepeatable. Having a chance to play for John Thompson, I learned a lot about life. If I just stuck with racing, the best advice in racing I ever got was from Parnelli Jones, who told me "you'll know when it's time to get out of a racecar. When you have your Big Wreck and you know what the Big Wreck is, and the first thing you think about is the family business." So far, every time I've had the big ones, I haven't thought about the family business yet.

2. If you could choose someone to play you in a movie, who would it be?

Gaughan: Come on, Harrison Ford. He's a little old, but hey, it would still be cool to have Harrison Ford or Sean Connery play you.

3. What was your first job?

Gaughan: My first job was a dishwasher and busboy at the Binion's Horseshoe.

4. What was your first car?

Gaughan: My first car was a 1988 Ford Bronco that was my brother's.

5. If you could take someone to eat in Las Vegas, where would you go and what would you order?

Gaughan: Michael's Restaurant. And I'd get the Dover sole. That's easy.

6. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

Gaughan: My favorite ice cream flavor is coffee.

7. What was the last movie you rented?

Gaughan: Rented? Wow, I haven't rented a movie in forever. I buy them. There's one in my bag, The Guardian.

8. What's your favorite TV show?

Gaughan: House and Stargate SG-1. It's a tie.

9. What's your favorite Christmas present?

Gaughan: My life's a Christmas present. The one I remember? My first little dune buggy from Jerry Hurst.

10. If you could put together a pickup basketball team from all-time, who would join you on the court?

Gaughan: Oh, God. That's actually a fairly easy one for me. Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, myself and Pistol Pete Maravich.
