DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The time is now for Matt Kenseth.

Though the finish wasn't there for Kenseth at Lowe's Motor Speedway (12th) this past Sunday, the statistical performance was.

Below are some of the key Loop Data categories and how Kenseth ranked in each:

Matt Kenseth

Category Stat Rank
Driver Rating 120.2 2nd
Average Running Position 5.620 1st
Fastest Laps Run 34 3rd
Green Flag Speed 171.545 mph 3rd
Laps in the Top 15 376 4th

Now, Kenseth returns to one of his favorite tracks -- Dover International Speedway -- in the hopes of building on the momentum started during the 600-mile marathon.

Known as The Monster Mile, Kenseth tamed the Delaware track last season by winning the spring race -- and he may have completed the season sweep had he not run out of fuel in the closing laps of the September event. Kenseth led a race-high 215 laps that race, but Jeff Burton won, ending a 175-race winless drought.

Kenseth, in third place in the Nextel Cup Series standings, cut his points deficit by 92 from 299 points to 207 behind leader Jeff Gordon on Sunday. This week, the same could hold true if recent history is any indicator.

The time is also right for Kenseth's Roush Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle. Biffle finished 43rd at LMS to drop to 19th place in the standings. Over the past five races he has an average finish of 24.6 and has only two top-10 finishes this season. The good news -- he has excelled at Dover in recent years. Biffle has an average finish of 6.75 over the last four Dover races.

Additionally, he is at or near the top of the list in a number of Loop Data categories over the last two years.
