1. What's the best advice you've ever received and who was it from?
Kertus Davis: Probably from James Hylton. He's right there from South Carolina. My dad worked for him in the early '80s. He said, "Just be yourself. No matter how you come up or where you come from. If you make it to the big leagues, always stay true to your roots and the people who helped you get there."

2. If you could take someone to eat in your hometown of Gaffney, S.C., where would you go and what would you order?
Davis: I would probably go to Fatz Cafe. There's a small chain of restaurants right there in South Carolina. It started originally in Spartanburg and they have one in Gaffney. Their calabash chicken is great.
3. Who's made the most impact on your life?
Davis: I would say my dad, Johnny Davis. He's stayed behind me 100 percent. We've had a family-owned team and he's worked so hard to try and get me in the position I am now with Kevin Harvick Inc. He worked just as hard as I did, elbows to elbows, these past three years.
4. What's No. 1 on your "things to do list?"
Davis: Get my first win in the Busch Series, which I think won't be long with the caliber of the team we've got and the great sponsor in Dollar General. I think before the end of the year, I'll be in Victory Lane.
5. What was your first job?
Davis: My very first job was as a fabricator, welding for my father, welding go-kart chassis. We had a small go-kart racing business, building chassis and parts for the go-karts.
6. What was the last book you read?
Davis: The last book I read was Tim Richmond. That's what I've been reading.
7. Where's your favorite place to drive?
Davis: I like being at Myrtle Beach. I've been going there my whole life. I like when we go out to Phoenix to race, I like going to the Tempe area. My favorite racetrack would be Talladega.
8. What was your favorite subject in high school?
Davis: My favorite subject in high school was math.
9. What was your first car?
Davis: My first car was an '84 Toyota truck. It had a rusted hood, it was missing the left-front fender and had a rusted right-front fender and it was also missing the front bumper.
10. Cale Yarborough or David Pearson?
Davis: I liked Cale Yarborough's style over David Pearson. David Pearson's great but Cale Yarborough, he would take those gloves and put them way above his elbows and when it came down to it, he was going for the win.
