New Hampshire, much like the states that surround it, is know for its beautiful countryside as one of the founding states of America. There are lakes. There are ports. There are bridges. And of course, there is lobster.
Around this time, it's the state's political power that draws such ire and it has done so since its beginnings. As one of the original 13 colonies, it laid its mark on American freedom early. Thirty years after the Revolutionary War, the state's most famous soldier, Gen. John Stark, mailed a letter to a celebration reunion of a local battle. It was paper that stated a toast for the party's guests:
Live free or die: Death is not the worst of evils.
Today, that toast is the state motto and perhaps the most well-known statement of American freedom.

Covered bridge tour -- There's no cab or bus to ride. A station doesn't let visitors park, buy a ticket and sit back for the tour. But perhaps one of the most enjoyable things to do in New Hampshire for scenic lovers is to navigate their own covered bridge tour through the rural highways. A stroll through local roads near the racetrack results in six covered bridges that can be found with ease.
