1. What's the best advice you've ever received and who was it from?

Raines: I'd say it was probably from my dad. He said, "Work hard and play hard."

2. What's at the top of your "things to accomplish" list?

Raines: Just to improve. Whatever it is you're doing, whether it's golf with your buddies or racing. I think that applies to everything, from qualifying to racing. Obviously, in order to do well at everything, you have to improve. I think that's just at the top of my list. To get better at whatever it is.

3. Who has made the most impact on your life?

Raines: You know, that's a tough question because there's been several people. There are two or three that come to the top of my mind that have been real important. My dad passed away young and because of that, that's affected me all my life, it gives you a different perspective. Because of that, I think I've worked a little harder at trying to live life fuller.

4. If you could take somebody to your hometown for dinner, where would you go and what would you order?

Raines: In LaPorte? Probably Redamak's, which was actually just outside of LaPorte but they're famous for their hamburgers. They have a real unique hamburger. I used to like to go there and eat a lot. It's on Lake Michigan.

5. What was your favorite subject in high school?

Raines: Math.

6. What was your first job?

Raines: My first job was working in an apple orchard and a vineyard. I worked hard for like a dollar an hour. Not very good.

7. What's your favorite TV show?

Raines: The Golf Channel.

8. What's the one thing you do that drives your family crazy?

Raines: Gosh, I don't know. Probably go hunting too much, I guess.

9. What do you feel is your biggest strength?

Raines: Perseverance.

10. If you could put together a foursome to play a round of golf, who would you choose?

Raines: I would like to have my dad play. I played with him a little bit, but just to be able to do it again. And probably have Chuck Yeager play and I'm thinking Ty Cobb.
