In the Field: Elliott Sadler

Last week, I spent a lot of time at home in Virginia. I didn't really do much of anything. A bunch of my buddies and I just played golf a lot. Really, I just got away from racing 100 percent and cleared my mind.

This last 17-race stretch is pretty tough on everybody, mentally and physically, so I just spent a lot of time at home with my family.

I went to a few softball games. I sponsor a girls' softball team at home that my sister plays on. My sister-in-law, my girlfriend all play on it too, so I went and watched them play a few times, but I just went and spent time with my family. I thoroughly enjoyed it, had a great time, kind of recharged the batteries and got pretty fresh. We'll kind of move on from there.

** What's your favorite thing about coming to Indy?

Indy is just the racetrack itself, there's just so much history that's at this track. Not every day, do you get to race in front of 300,000 people. You're racing in a tunnel. You've got stands all around it and on both sides on the frontstretch and it's just a great racetrack.

It's a lot of fun, it's very smooth and just the atmosphere here is just always picked up a couple notches from a lot of other places where we race at. So it makes a lot of fun for us drivers.
