A new format will be introduced for the 2007 Nextel All-Star Challenge, as for the first time in the 23 years of the event the race will be run in four segments consisting of 20 laps each.

There will be five-lap caution periods after the first and third segments, with a 10-minute break scheduled after the second segment. In the final segment, only green-flag laps will count.

If you're looking for a favorite try Jeff Gordon, 2007 points leader and winner of three of the past four races. When it comes to the All-Star event, Gordon is the active leader in wins (three), top-fives (six) and top-10s (nine).

More Hendrick Motorsports: With a victory Saturday night, 2006 winner Jimmie Johnson would tie Gordon for most active wins and become just the second driver to win consecutive All-Star races.
