Short-track racing has always been an exciting staple in the Craftsman Truck Series but with the rare Wednesday running of the O'Reilly 200 (7:30 p.m. ET, SPEED) at the newly-paved Bristol Motor Speedway, there is something really special about this week.

"I'm excited to race on the new track surface at Bristol. I think they did an excellent job with the track, it's awesome," said Todd Bodine, who is currently fourth in the Truck Series standings. "It's gonna be two-wide racing on Wednesday night, I feel for sure. In years to come, in the races that will be on it, the racing will be thrilling and competitive and the fans are gonna love it."

The defending series champion knows a thing or two about running at Bristol. He's raced in two Truck Series races at the 0.533-mile track and finished second in both. Bodine says those who think Bristol has lost some of its magic will see that's not the case at all.

"A lot of guys are upset because they messed with the track and all and changed the mystique of Bristol," Bodine said. "I think the folks at Speedway Motorsports just made it better. I'm sure once everyone gets on track, they will have to see that it is still very much Bristol Motor Speedway, it's just better."
