Last year in the Martinsville fall race, Jack Sprague led 95 laps en route to his second win on the season. This year, as the Truck Series returns to Martinsville for the Kroger 200 on Saturday (2:30 p.m. ET, SPEED), it will again be a special day for Sprague and the No. 60 team.

Sprague will make his 400th NASCAR national series start when he takes the green flag. He has 267 Truck Series starts, 108 Busch Series starts and 24 Cup Series starts. In that time he has won 29 events, 28 of them in the Truck Series with his lone Busch Series win coming in 2002, when he won at Nashville.

That year, Sprague finished fifth in the Busch Series points standings with a win, nine top-fives and 15 top-10s.

In the Truck Series, Sprague is the only three-time champion, winning the title in 1997, 1999 and 2001. In 10 full Truck Series seasons, Sprague has finished no worse than eighth in points.

Interesting Fact

14Points difference between leader Ron Hornaday and Mike Skinner, the second closest with five races remaining in Truck Series history. The closest is five and it happened twice, in 1998 and 2005. In both instances, the leader at that time did not go on to win the title.

Fun Fact

$5,597,703The amount of money in the purses of the 17 Truck Series races held at Martinsville, which sounds like a lot until you compare it to what race sponsor Kroger, the largest grocery chain in the country, reported as their annual sales last year, $60.5 billion. Kroger is the third largest general retail chain in the country, behind Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
