It promises to be an exciting weekend of NASCAR action from Michigan International Speedway, where all eyes will be upon Dale Earnhardt Jr. after his announcement Wednesday that he would join Hendrick Motorsports in 2008.

And don't forget about the Busch Series race at Kentucky Speedway, where one year ago fans couldn't believe their eyes when David Gilliland charged from obscurity to stun the field and propel himself into a Nextel Cup ride.

The Craftsman Truck Series is also at Michigan and will be part of a Saturday day-night doubleheader with the Busch race.

Benny Parsons

Remembering BP

TNT's Bill Weber reminisces about longtime colleague and friend, Benny Parsons.

In the wake of Earnhardt's announcement, Marty Snider will have an exclusive sit down interview with both Earnhardt and owner Rick Hendrick, who discuss Earnhardt's decision to join the powerhouse team with Jeff Gordon, as well as why he elected not to drive the No. 3 car in memory of his late father. The interview will air as a part of NASCAR on TNT's pre-race coverage on beginning with NASCAR on TNT Live! at 12:20 p.m. ET Sunday and the Allstate Countdown to Green at 1:30 p.m. ET.

During the Allstate Countdown to Green, TNT's Ralph Sheheen talks to DEI's Martin Truex, Jr., a Race for the Chase contender who recently picked up his first Cup win two weeks ago in Dover. Truex and Earnhardt are close friends and with Earnhardt's departure, Truex now becomes one of the top drivers at DEI. In honor of Father's Day, Truex also will discuss the impact that his father, a top Northeast stock-car champion, has had on his career.

The network's popular Pride of NASCAR series, which debuted last Sunday with a feature on veteran driver David Pearson, will continue with a moving segment on the late Benny Parsons, whose life and legacy will be remembered as a true NASCAR legend. A former NASCAR champion and TNT analyst, Parsons' racing career began in the early 1960s after he moved to Detroit and competed in his first race at a local racetrack. He went on to amass 21 career wins, including a victory at Michigan International Speedway in 1980.

The popular Wally's World segment will continue from the track as Michigan, as Wally Dallenbach hosts actor Corey Reynolds for a wild ride-along. Reynolds plays Sgt. David Gabriel in the hit TNT series The Closer.

NASCAR.COM will continue to provide exclusive coverage of the network's telecasts on TNT Inside Angle, a new section on the award-winning Web site that gives fans an exciting glimpse of all the behind-the-scenes action of the NASCAR on TNT Summer Series. Featured on the site are exclusive broadband content from the TNT announcers and telecasts, including live video streaming from cameras on pit road, race previews and behind-the-scenes footage of the TNT production crew in action.
