WELCOME, N.C. -- Richard Childress Racing and Camping World have agreed on a multi-pronged sponsorship agreement for three of RCR's Nextel Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series teams for 2007.
Camping World, based in Bowling Green, Ky., is the world's largest supplier of RV accessories and camping equipment with over 65 retail outlets in key regional locations.
The multi-team program will include Richard Childress Racing drivers Scott Wimmer and Clint Bowyer.
Wimmer will drive the No. 33 Camping World Chevorlet in the Kobalt Tools 500, the Nextel Cup event at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 18.
Bowyer will drive the No. 07 Camping World Chevrolet in Nextel Cup events at New Hampshire International Speedway on July 1 and Pocono Raceway on August 5.
In addition, Bowyer will drive the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series races at Phoenix International Raceway, Talladega Superspeedway, New Hampshire International Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway.
"This new association with Richard Childress Racing represents a valuable opportunity for Camping World and its participating vendors," said Marcus Lemonis, Camping World president and CEO. "It not only adds important markets to our racing calendar in both the Cup and the Busch Series, it also allows us to become part of RCR's impressive family of marketing partners."
Wimmer's 2007 Nextel Cup Series debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday will also be RCR's debut of Chevrolet's new generation engine, the R07. RCR will be the first team in the Nextel Cup Series to utilize Chevrolet's new engine.
"This sponsorship program has given RCR and Camping World a unique opportunity to build on primary sponsorships with both our Cup and Busch Series teams," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. "RVers make up a big part of the NASCAR fan-base who attends events all around the country. That gives Camping World a direct connection to the thousands of dedicated race fans who travel countless miles to attend NASCAR races from Northern California all the way to South Florida."
